GATE 2017 Results

GATE 2017 Results will be announced on March 27 by the organizing authority IIT Roorkee. The examination took place on February 4,5,11 and 12, 2017. It has been more than a month that candidates are eagerly waiting for the results to be out. Candidates who appeared for the GATE exam received the final answer key on February 27. Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee allowed the candidates a to challenge or object the answer sheet within the span of 3 days from March 3 to March 6, 2017. Hence an updated answer key was released on March 16, 2017, which leaves no reason for delaying the GATE 2017 results.

How to Check GATE 2017 Results

GATE 2017 Results link will be further updated & be available on the official GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website: http://appsgate.iitr.ac.in/

This is the steps you have to follow to check your result.

  • Visit the official website for GATE
  • Click on “GATE Result” tab
  • Enter your Registration Number, Roll Number, and Date of Birth
  • Verify the accuracy of the mentioned credentials
  • Post verification, click on ‘SUBMIT’ button
  • GATE Result  will be displayed containing your Name, Registration Number, Examination Paper, Marks scored out of hundred and qualifying marks

The information displayed on the GATE 2017 Score Card are as follows

What is GATE 2017 counseling all about?

Over 8 lakh students appeared for GATE exam last year, and only 1.4 lakh were able to qualify for admissions. Those who qualified the exam can apply into IIT's & IISc, where they will conduct a separate counseling process for Admission in their MTech courses via GATE 2017. Applicants who will obtain a valid score and take admission in M.E./M.Tech program will be given scholarship as per the guidelines of the institution.

What is the Admission Procedure for IIT's/NIT's after the exam?

All the institutes including IITs will issue their admission procedure after the exam. This will include their eligibility criteria, GATE Cutoff, and Selection Procedure

  • CCMT will be conducted separately for admission in NITs.
  • Different institutes will allot M.E./M.Tech seats by GATE score and candidate’s marks in qualifying examination. Both will be in the ratio of 70:30.

What is the formula for the percentile?

Percentile calculation is the initial step to the calculation of the score of GATE 2017. It is the product of dividing the existing candidate and the total number of candidates participating in the examination by a total number of candidates into 100.

Percentile Score =  100 x  Number of candidates with scores below the existing candidate

If I don’t receive the score card online what should I do?

  • Send a demand draft of Rs.500/
  • In favor of "Chairman GATE."
  • Payable at the Institute who conducted GATE 2017. Which is IIT Roorkee
  • They will send you a soft copy of the score card within 10 days.

I am Unable to get my GATE 2017 Score Card?

Only those who qualify in GATE 2017, get the score card. If you are unable to find your score card, that means that you did not qualify the examination.
