Dibrugarh University Management Entrance Exam 2017

One of the famous universities in Assam, Dibrugarh University opens admissions for academic session 2017-18. Aspirants can now apply for MBA (PT) and PGDTM at Dibrugarh University. The application form for online registration will be available from June 9, 2017. It can be downloaded from the official website of Dibrugarh University i.e. www.dibru.ac.in

Dibrugarh University was set up in 1965 under the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965, enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly.

Applications in prescribed form are invited for admission to the following Dibrugarh University Entrance Exam for the session 2017-2018:

1. Master of Business Administration (Part Time) {MBA(PT)}

Eligibility: Graduation (All streams except Music & Fine Arts) with 2 Years of work experience after graduation. Candidates with valid MAT score of above 500 are exempted from CMSDU Test.

2. Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management (PGDTM)

Eligibility: Graduation (All Streams except Music & Fine Arts) with 40% marks (35% for SC/ST). Candidates need to sit for CMSDU Test.

Statutory Reservation Policy shall be followed as per the rules of the University.


Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM Exam Dates 2017

Dibrugarh University Application form for MBA (PT) and PGDTM will be available on the official website from June 9, 2017. The exam is scheduled to be held in the month of August 7, 2017. Important dates of DU MBA (PT) and PGDTM Entrance Exam 2017 are given below:

Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM Eligibility Criteria 2017

1. Master of Business Administration (Part Time) {MBA(PT)} 

Part Time course in MBA is a 3-year program, with specialization in either Marketing, Human Resource Management or Finance. It is a modular program wherein students become eligible for a certificate, a diploma and finally a degree after the completion of one, two and three years respectively. The applicant should be a Graduate in any discipline with a minimum post qualification working experience of two years at a supervisory level in any organization. Self-employed persons having the above-mentioned qualification and experience may also apply. Total number of seats is 25. Program fee is INR 25,000 per year.

Candidates have to appear in a Written Test to be conducted by CMSDU. Candidates who qualify in the Written Test will be selected on the basis of their performance in the test and industry experience. The MBA (PT) program starts in August.

2. Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management (PGDTM)

The 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management is a two-semester diploma program. The Program has a mandatory Field Trip spanning around 2 weeks to places of tourist interest; primarily in the North-east.

The PGDTM session starts in August. The mandatory Field trip is generally undertaken after the first semester final examination.

A Graduate (any branch / subject of minimum three years duration) from a recognized University / Institute, securing at least 40% marks (35% for SC / ST) in major / aggregate shall be eligible to apply for admission into the First Semester PGDTM Program. Total intake is 25. Program fee is INR 15,000 per semester.

An admission test for selection of candidates for the PGDTM course is held which comprises of a Written Test and a Personal Interview.


Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM Application Form 2017

Application form is available from June 9, 2017 at the Office of the Director, Centre for Management Studies, Dibrugarh University, on payment of INR 650 only (INR 400 for candidates who seek exemption from CMSDU Test) at Punjab National Bank, Dibrugarh University Branch.

Procedure of online registration for Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM Admission 2017 is as follows:

1. Online registration will start from June 9, 2017. Candidates can register themselves by following official website i.e. www.dibru.ac.in

2. Admission is through online registration only. No other means of application is accepted.

3. Candidates waiting for their final results can also apply.

Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM Admit Card 2017

Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM 2017 Admit Card will be available for download on the official website of Dibrugarh University. It can be downloaded at least 15 days before the entrance test. All the candidates are advised to take 2 copies of the Admit card to the examination center. In case of any discrepancy, Candidates should immediately contact Dibrugarh University examination department. Steps to download the admit card are given below:

1. Visit the official website.

2. Click on the link “Admit Card for MBA (PT) and PGDTMAdmission Test.

3. Enter your login details, Login ID and your password.

4. Login and download the Admit Card for examination.

5. Print the Admit Card on A4 sheet.      

Note: Admit Card should be kept safe as it will be needed at the time of admission.


Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2017

1. Master of Business Administration (Part Time) {MBA(PT)}

Each course has an internal assessment of 40 marks and an end year examination of 60 marks. Course project work being entirely based on a project study has no end year examinations; as such the internal component is of 100 marks for the said course. The internal assessment is done through sessional, presentations, assignments, attendance, practical’s and /or projects depending on the nature of the course.

A student must attend at least 50% of classes in each course to be able to appear in the end year examination as a regular candidate. Those with less than 50% attendance are debarred from appearing in their end year examinations (except under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Centre). Students must score 40% for being declared pass in a course and an aggregate of 45% to pass a year.

2. Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management (PGDTM)

Each course has an internal assessment of 40 marks and an end semester examination of 60 marks. Course IT Applications in Tourism Management being entirely based on a Field Trip has no end semester examinations. the mark distribution is divided into 40 marks (Viva-Voce) and 60 marks (Field Report). Courses Geography, History and Culture of India & North East & IT Applications in Tourism Management have 25 marks as practical which is part of the 40 marks allotted for the respective internals. The internal assessment is done through sessional, presentations, assignments, practical’s and /or projects and attendance depending on the nature of the course.

A student must attend at least 80% of classes in each course to be able to appear in the end semester examination as a regular candidate failing which they will be debarred from appearing in their end semester examinations (except under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the authorities concerned).

Students must score 40% for being declared pass in a course (separately in in-semester and end-semester) and an aggregate of 45% to pass a semester.

Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM Result 2017

Results of Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM 2017 exam will be announced on the official website in PDF format. Candidates can check the results 15 days after the exam has been conducted. Candidates will be required to follow the steps given below to check the result:

1. Visit the official website of Dibrugarh University.

2. Click on the link "MBA (PT) and PGDTM Result 2017"

3. A new page will open, click on the PDF file given there.

4. Check your name and roll number on the list given.


Dibrugarh University MBA (PT) and PGDTM Counselling 2017

Dibrugarh University Entrance Exam MBA (PT) and PGDTM 2017 Counselling will begin in the month of August/ September 2017 after the declaration of the results. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Dibrugarh University Entrance Exam MBA (PT) and PGDTM 2017 Counselling process based on the scores obtained by them in DU Entrance Exam MBA (PT) and PGDTM 2017. All eligible candidates will have to attend the counselling process and carry all the necessary documents to the venue. Candidates will be required to complete their document verification before they are granted admission in the allotted college.

Candidates will have to be physically present at the time of admission. The admission fee is INR 30,000 (approximately). Candidates will be required to bring the following documents at the time of admission:

  • Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Admit Card of MBA (PT) and PGDTM Entrance Test
  • Original copies of admit cards, marksheets, and pass certificate (10th class onwards)
  • One self-attested copies of admit cards, marksheets, and pass certificate (10th class onwards)
