JIPMER MBBS 2017 Exam Pattern is defined by JIPMER for the candidates who are aspiring for the JIPMER Entrance test. It will help candidates in understanding the syllabus, duration of the exam, type & number of questions and marking scheme in JIPMER 2017 entrance exam. The Online Entrance Examination is going to be conducted on June 04, 2017 in two shifts: Morning Shift from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and Afternoon Shift from 03:00 PM to 05:30 PM.

There are 5 sections, namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Reasoning and English Comprehension. For every correct answer candidate will be given 4 marks and no mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Here we provide you all the detailed information regarding JIPMER MBBS 2017 Exam Pattern.

What is JIPMER Exam Pattern?

JIPMER Entrance Exam is conducted in online mode only for all the aspirants. JIPMER exam comprises 5 sections, namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Logical & Quantitative Reasoning and English Comprehension. Physics, Chemistry and Biology sections consist of 60 questions each while reasoning and English have 10 questions each.   1. Exam Mode – JIPMER MBBS 2017 exam will be conducted in computer based mode. Candidates will be allotted a computer on which the test has to be taken.
  1. No. of Questions – JIPMER MBBS 2017 question paper will have 200 questions. There are total 5 sections in the exam. 60 questions will be in each of these 3 sections: Physics, Chemistry and Biology sections and 10 questions will be from each Reasoning and English.
  2. Type of Questions – The questions will be of multiple choice question (MCQ) type. There will be four choices for each question. Candidates have to choose the most appropriate answer and mark it.
  3. Medium of Question Paper– JIPMER MBBS 2017 can be taken in English only.

JIPMER 2017 Marking Scheme – Each question in JIPMER MBBS 2017 entrance test will carry 4 marks. For every correct answer the candidate will be awarded 4 marks. There is NO Negative Marking in the JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam. For unanswered questions there will be no marking. In case, the candidate has marked two answers to a question, it will be treated as a wrong answer and no mark will be awarded. Hence, the candidate must only select one option out of the four. Also, for the questions marked for review no marks will be awarded.

JIPMER 2017 Exam Sections

The exam paper mainly has five sections: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Logical & quantitative reasoning and English comprehension. Biology is divided in two sub-sections- Zoology and Botany. Each section is compulsory and a candidate must not skip any section. The table below explains the distribution of questions for each section.

The paper will have a total of 200 objective questions. Each question will have four responses and only one of them would be correct. Candidates are required to SUBMIT any one of the responses.

English Syllabus

JIPMER MBBS 2017 English syllabus will contain English comprehension and grammar of the class X level exam of CBSE. Following are the topics that will be asked in English section-

  • Section B: Writing Skills
  • Section C: Literature and Long Reading Text

JIPMER 2017 Exam Day Instructions

There are some important things which a candidate must keep in mind on the examination day. Some general guidelines and instructions have been provided below –

  • All candidates will be required to appear for computer based test, which will be conducted on Sunday, 04th JUNE, 2017 in either one of the shifts, morning 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM OR afternoon 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM as allotted by the competent authority.
  • Candidates should report at the exam venue by 08.00 AM for morning shift. Entry to the examination center closes at 09:15 AM. For afternoon shift candidates should report at the exam venue by 01.00 PM. Entry closes at 02:15 PM.
  • The center, time and shift of the examination will be communicated to the candidates in the Admit Card.
  • Candidates will be permitted to appear in the examination unless they hold a valid Admit Card issued by the Institute and a proof of their identification. The candidate must carry the admit card and produce it on asking at the Exam Center.
  • The candidate must not carry any of the barred items inside the exam hall.

JIPMER 2017 Test

JIPMER MBBS 2017 entrance exam is a Computer Based Test. It will contain the objective-type questions which are supposed to be answered by submitting the right response. In order to submit the questions correctly, you must know the details of the online test.

Some important points about the JIPMER MBBS 2017 Computer Based Test are given below:

  • The candidate will be allotted a computer on his/her seat that is allotted by the authority.
  • The instructions for the Test will be provided five minutes before the commencement of the examination on the computer. Candidates are advised to read them carefully.
  • The response to a question, on click of “submit’’ button before closing of examination shall be considered as the response chosen by the candidate.
  • You cannot skip any section in the exam, so attempt all the sections as they appear in your system.
  • The questions that are marked for review will be considered unanswered until you submit the response.
  • The candidate should mark the Answer carefully and check that the Test is completed within given time.
  • In case of any discrepancy, the candidate must immediately report it to the invigilator and ask for a replacement.
  • After the invigilator indicates that the test has begun, the candidate can start the test. No candidate is allowed to leave the exam venue before the test is over.

JIPMER 2017 qualifying marks

Candidates have to score a minimum qualifying  percentile in order to qualify JIPMER MBBS 2017 entrance exam. According to the official admission brochure of JIPMER following minimum marks are required for different categories-

The JIPMER MBBS 2017 result is scheduled to be announced on or before June 19, 2017. The result will be declared in the form of merit list that will have Candidate’s name, All India Rank and percentile scored by the candidate. Candidates who score less than the minimum qualifying percentile in the exam will not be considered for admission and their names will not be included in the Merit List.
