UPSC Recruitment 2017: Apply for 80 vacancies of Commissioners, Officers and Directors

UPSC has released notification for recruitment of 80 different posts on the permanent basis. The commission invites applications for the posts of Commissioner, Scientific Operator and others. Interested candidates can apply online through the official website of UPSC i.e. upsconline.nic.in. Applicants who are looking for government jobs through UPSC, this is an excellent opportunity for them. The last date to apply for these posts is April 13, 2017. Applicants have to pay application fee of INR 25 while filling an application form. There is no application fee for reserved (SC/ ST/ PWD) categories and women.

Job Details of the Post of Labor Enforcement Officer 

UPSC is recruiting for 33 vacancies for the post of Labor Enforcement Officer. The job responsibilities for this post are mentioned below:

  • Inspection of establishments in the Central Sphere.
  • Enforcement of Labor Laws in the Central Sphere i.e. Railways, Mines, Oilfields, Banks, Insurance Companies, Ports etc.
  • Promotion of Labor Welfare in Central Sphere undertakings
  • Prosecution of cases of defaulters
  • Conciliation of Industrial Disputes, if empowered as Conciliation Officer, under the Industrial Disputes
  • Verification of Trade Union membership and acquaintance with trade union movement in general
  • Special enquiries on Labor matters entrusted from time to time.

Job Details for the Post of Specialist Grade-III, Asst. Professor 

UPSC has announced 20 vacancies for the post of Specialist Grade-III, Asst. Professor. This is post is divided into 3 parts namely Pharmacology, Neonatology, and Gastroenterology.

  • 10 vacancies for Specialist Grade III - Assistant Professor (Pharmacology)
  • 02 vacancies for Specialist Grade III - Assistant Professor (Neonatology)
  • 08 vacancies for Specialist Grade III - Assistant Professor (Gastroenterology)

UPSC Recruitment 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The minimum eligibility for the various posts is Master’s degree with specialization in Agriculture, Microbiology, Commerce, MBBS, Law or any degree in concerned discipline from any recognized University or Institute. Applicants should have work experience of 1 year to 5 years. Applicants are required to check the eligibility criteria, before applying for the posts.

The relaxation criteria are different for SC/ST, OBC and PWD

  • Candidates who belong to SC/ ST category have 05 years of relaxation.
  • For OBC candidates is 03 years relaxation.
  • The highest relaxation is provided to PWD candidates is 10 years

UPSC Recruitment 2017: How to Apply?

UPSC Registration is under way. Candidates can apply on the official website of UPSC. Applicants have to pay application fee of INR 25 at the time of filling an application form. Candidates can pay application fee via online or offline through any branch of SBI (State Bank of India). Reserved categories (SC/ ST/ PWD) and women are exempted from the application fee.

  3. Click on new registration button and enter all the details
  4. Now click on Save and Continue button
  5. Now Registration ID & Password gets generated
  6. Click on the link “Apply Online” and login by your Registration ID & Password
  7. Upload all the required documents
  8. Verify all the information and submit your application form

UPSC Recruitment 2017: Selection Process

The selection process of UPSC Recruitment is based on written test and Personal Interview. The written test will be conducted by UPSC authority. The shortlisted candidates based on their performance in the written test will be eligible for Interview round. Candidates who will qualify Interview round will be finally selected for the respective posts.

General Guidelines for UPSC Recruitment

There are some general guidelines issued by UPSC authority. Candidates are required to read all the guidelines carefully.

  • Only Indian nationals can apply for the posts mentioned above
  • Applicants must apply till April 13, 2017. After the last date of registration, applications will not be accepted.
  • Applicants have to bring their admit card with valid Id proof at the examination center. Else they cannot sit for exam.
  • Candidates have to reach at the exam center half hour prior before the commencement of examination for document verification.
  • Any kind of electronic devices such as mobile, calculator is not allowed inside the examination hall.
  • UPSC authority has right to reject any application in any stage of selection process and candidates cannot challenge their decisions
  • Applicants who will successfully qualify the written test will only be eligible for interview round
  • The final selection will be purely based on the score of written test and performance in Interview round.
  • Candidates belong to reserved category must bring their caste certificate at the time of selection process
  • Every candidate must enter 1 valid Email Address in the application form. Because all the information about the written test and interview will be sent via email only.
