UPSC Recruitment 2017: Apply for 7 posts of Lecturers in School of Foreign Languages, Ministry of Defence

UPSC has released the job offer for 7 posts of Lecturers in School of Foreign Languages under Ministry of Defence.The candidate can apply on or before  December 29 2016. The vacancies are listed :

Vacancy details

These are permanent post under General central Service of Group ‘A’ Gazetted and are  Non-ministerial.The duty of the candidate will be to teach high standard concern Language.The posts  are suitable for  the Physically Challenged Persons with  following disability

  • Orthopedically Handicapped
  • Locomotors Disability
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Person with  both legs affected but not arms (BL)
  • Person with  any One leg affected (OL)
  • Person with only  one Arm affected ( right or left) (OA)
  •  Blind (B) /Partially Blind (PB).

Pay Scale:

Rs. 15,600/- to 39,100/- (PB – 3) and Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400/- (T.E. Rs. 47,250/- Approx.)  Plus T.A. and HRA as admissible

Eligibility

  • Candidate must be 38 years old for the post of Burmese and Bahasa Indonesia Lecturer. For rest of the posts the age must be 35 years
  • Should have hold of Master’s degree in the concern language .only the degree from a recognised University or Institution is acceptable.
  • Candidates having hold of Diploma or Interpreter ship in the concern language are considered eligible only if they have passed a Masters Degree exam in any discipline with English as a Medium of education.
  •  Candidate must have 1 year experience in teaching / translator of concern language to Hindi or English or vice-versa.
  • The candidates with PhD degree in the concern language from a recognised university are preferred over others.

Note:

  • In  case of Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers along with  ECOs/SSCOs , Central Government employees and the  persons who had temporarily  been domiciled in the State of Jammu &Kashmir  during the period from  ranging  from  January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1989 the upper age limit shall be relaxed by five years
  • For the Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates the age relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit is allowed .For the PH candidate (40% disability) under SC/ST Category there is a relaxation 15 years and 13 years for OBC candidate in upper age limit.

Note: the maximum age of the applicant on the closing date shall not exceed 56 years.


How to Apply

Candidates can apply for the above posts only through online mode through the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in.  By following the given steps:

  1. Fillip all the necessary information in the form
  2. Upload all the important documents/certificates as a single pdf file not exceeding 2 MB.
  3. After filling the form and uploading all the documents candidates must submit the form online.
  4. The candidate must take out a print out of the finally submitted Online Recruitment Application which is to be submitted to the Commission at the time of interview.

The candidates are required to upload the following documents and present the printouts of the same at the timer of the interview:

  • Valid Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent certificate
  • Date of Birth  certificate/ School leaving certificate indicating Date of Birth-  in case DOB is not mentioned on the marks sheet
  • Marks sheet of Degree or Diploma  of all the years
  • Degree/Diploma certificate
  • In case of absence of Degree/Diploma certificate, the provisional certificate along with mark sheets pertaining to all the academic years will be accepted.
  • Experience letter- if required
  • Caste certificate, in case the candidate seeks reservation as SC/ ST/ OBC
  •  Physically Handicapped certificate
  • Certificate/ Document in respect of Age relaxation
  • Documentary support for any other claim(s) made.
  • Certificate(s) in respect of claim regarding Professional Registration, Language, Publications, NET, GATE, Conference, Internship.
  •  A candidate  who claims change in name after matriculation in  the case of marriage or remarriage or divorce etc. the following documents shall be submitted:-

I) In case of marriage of a woman - Photocopy of Husband’s passport showing names of spouses / an attested copy of marriage certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriage/ an Affidavit from husband and wife along with a joint photograph duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner

ii) In case of re-marriage of a woman - Divorce Deed/Death certificate as the case may be in respect of first spouse, photocopy of present husband’s passport showing names of spouse or an attested copy of marriage certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriage / an Affidavit from the husband and wife along with joint photograph duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner

iii) In case of divorce of women - Certified copy of Divorce Decree and Deed Poll/Affidavit duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner.

Note: In other circumstances for change of name for both male and female - Deed Poll/Affidavit duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner and paper cuttings of two leading daily newspaper in original (One daily newspaper should be the area of applicants permanent and present address or nearby area) and Gazette Notification.


Application Fee

 Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty five) only  through DD/ online banking

**There is no application fee for SC/ST/PH/Women candidates


Selection Process

Candidates are selected for the process of interview on the basis of the information provided by the candidate in the online application form. The interview shall be based on the academic background of the candidate, work experience and the hold on the concern subject.

Candidate must ensure that the information provided is true and has enough evidence to support that. The commission can demand the self attested copies of documents/relevant certificates in support of the claims made by the candidate in the application.

In case the details in the form are false, the candidature of the applicant is liable to be rejected and they may also be debarred either permanently or for some specified time only by the commission from any exam/ selection held by them and by the Central Government from any employment under them.
