RRB NTPC Mains Exam Analysis 2017- Jan 18

RRB NTPC Mains Exam is one of the most awaited and preferred Railway recruitment examination for candidates aspiring for government jobs. The second stage for RRB NTPC mains exam was conducted on January 18, 2017. RRB held a successful Computer Based Test to offer seats through RRB Recruitment. RRB NTPC Mains Exam Pattern

Firstly, let’s have a look at the RRB NTPC Mains exam pattern before analyzing the exam. RRB Recruitment exam comprises of three major parts i.e. English, Quants and General Awareness. The questions from these parts were not in the section-wise manner. Thus, no time-limit for individual sections was observed. Total time duration to attempt the examination is 90 minutes.

The Railway Recruitment 2017 exam is conducted in three shifts. Total marks for the exam was 120 and negative marking of 0.33 is applicable for wrong answers. The overall exam pattern and number of questions asked from each part is provided here.

Arithmetic – Arithmetic section was seen to be easy on the difficulty level. Questions based on profit and loss and ratio were easy to make while maximum question were easy to solve. Direct and easy questions were asked from DI and geometry topics.

Reasoning: Reasoning section was assessed to be very easy on the level of difficulty. The questions based on blood relations were very easy and straightforward. Questions based on all the other topics were also easy to solve. Maximum reasoning questions were asked from puzzles, cubes and dice type questions and least questions were based on mirror/ water image with none in the first shift.

General Awareness: This section was rated moderate at the difficulty level. Candidates faced difficulty attempting questions from this section. Most of the questions on current affairs were based on events occurred in 2016. Test takers found attempting current affairs questions a bit tricky while the questions based on static GK were easy.

Overall analysis for RRB NTPC mains exam

RRB NTPC mains exam ranges from easy to moderate. While questions from reasoning section were very easy in first shift, the General awareness questions were of moderate difficulty in all the shifts.
