CSIR UGC NET 2017 NEWS
NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) successfully conducted UGC NET Life Sciences entrance exam on June 18, 2017. The exam constituted 3 parts, i.e Part- A, Part- B and Part- C with all objective type questions. The exam was of 200 marks and time duration allotted was 3 hours.
Part-C comprised higher value questions of analytical nature where candidates were expected to apply scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution.
The official answer key for UGC NET Life Sciences exam 2017 will be released. Candidates can raise a question on any answer with valid proof.
UGC NET 2017 for Life Sciences was on the tougher side in comparison to previous years. Part – B was relatively difficult and tricky while Part- A which was based on general aptitude was easier and students could solve it easily if they practiced it regularly during preparation. Part – C proved to be the toughest consisting science questions which took a lot of time for candidates to solve.

Candidates can evaluate their performance by having a look at previous year’s cut-off list. Result for UGC NET is expected in the second or third week of July 2017.
UGC NET Life Sciences question paper comprises 3 parts in which Part- B caters to Life Sciences. A total of 50 objective type questions were included in Part – B and answer key for the same has been mentioned above.
Students can calculate their score of Part – B by checking the marking scheme mentioned below:
Part – A of the paper comprised of General Aptitude wherein questions were quite easy and the part somehow proved to be scoring. It contained the least number of questions as compared to the other two parts. This part focused on topics like logical reasoning, graphical analysis, series formation and puzzles and had a majority of questions from them.
It dealt with questions from Life Sciences from the topics mentioned in the syllabus and were a little tricky. This section was more time consuming than the other two and was not that easy.
This was the most difficult section out of the three and had the maximum weightage. It contained questions which tested students’ scientific knowledge and proved to be very confusing which took maximum time of students.
