NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
SSC will release the official notification for the most awaited exam for graduates i.e. SSC CGL Exam 2017 on March 11, 2017. The last date to apply for SSC CGL is April 15, 2017. The commission will conduct the Tier 1 exam of SSC CGL from June 19 to July 2, 2017. The Tier 2 exam of SSC CGL 2017 is scheduled to be conducted on September 5 to 8, 2017 and Tier 3 will be held in November 12, 2017.
SSC CGL 2017 Application Form would be available only in online mode. The registration process for SSC CGL 2017 will commence from March 11, 2017 and will last up to April 15, 2017. SSC CGL 2017 online application form consists of 2 steps- Online Registration and Online Form Filling. All the applicants are required to send only one SSC CGL application as multiple applications from the same candidate would be summarily rejected.
Candidates who have completed their graduation in any stream will be eligible to apply for CGL 2017. The upper age limit for general candidates is 27 years. However, for certain posts the upper age limit is 30 and 32 years. The lower age limit likewise varies between 18 and 21 years according to the posts.
In a recent notification released on the SSC website, the commission will calculate the age of an applicant as on August 1, 2017 and there will be no change in this date for age reckoning.
SSC CGL 2017 registration process requires the applicant to go through the following stages:
SSC CGL 2017 Registration Process: This is the step 1 of the CGL 2017 Application form filling. The candidate has to get the registration done by providing the basic details like name, age, mobile number, date of birth and email address. The candidate will receive a mail in their email id. The candidate has to click on the activation link to get his account activated on the portal.
SSC CGL 2017 Application Process: This is the step 2 in the process of filling the SSC CGL 2017 Application form. The candidate must complete this step by providing the details of the educational qualification and other details as asked. Once the page is filled click on “Save” button. The details will be saved in the database of SSC CGL exam team. The candidate must move to the next step immediately which is uploading the scanned copy of the photograph and signature.
Document upload SSC CGL 2017: This is a very important step. This requires the candidate to upload the scanned copy of the photograph and signature within the defined size limit. The CGL 2017 documents required are as follows:

Payment of Application fees: Now, you have to choose the Payment Option. i.e. either online or offline payment.
Submission of Application form: Now, you have to upload the Scanned copy of your Photograph and Signature, as Registration is incomplete without this step. We have already mentioned the Size and Dimensions of Scanned Documents.

SSC CGL 2017 exam consists of 4 tiers. The first 2 tiers will be computer based test while tier 3 would be a written descriptive test and tier 4 would be a skill test. There will be 4 sections consisting of 25 questions each in Tier 1. The time allotted for the exam is 75 minutes and the total marks allotted is 200 marks. SSC CGL Tier 1 would be held from June 19 to July 2, 2017.
Tier 2 comprises separate paper for Quantitative Abilities, English Language & comprehension, Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics). All the papers consist of 100 questions each. The time duration for all the papers is 2 hours while total marks allotted per paper is 200. SSC CGL Tier II is scheduled to be held on September 5-8, 2017.
SSC CGL 2017 Tier 3 is a Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi consisting of Essay/ Precise/ Letter/ Application writing. The total marks allotted for the paper is 100. All candidates will be given 60 minutes to complete the paper. It is scheduled to take place on November 12, 2017.
SSC CGL 2017 Tier 4 is a Skill Test and will be conducted in December, 2017. It is the final stage of CGL exam. The Tier 4 exam is conducted to test the typing skills of the candidate for various posts. The stage 4 is also known as Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) / Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The DEST exam requires the applicant to press 2000 keys (correct keywords) in an hour.
1. If, you choose to Pay the Application Fee by Cash, then you should retain the Receipt of Challan form, till the completion of selection process, as you may be asked anytime to produce it.
2. After the completion of Part-II Registration, you may receive Emails form SSC that contains Registration No and Acknowledgement, you must retain these email, in case any discrepancy arises with your candidature.
3. In case you submitted, more than One online application form, only the Last application form, successfully submitted by you, will be accepted.
4. Remember, Registration No is as important as the Exam itself, so keep it safe, as without registration no., you cannot download the Admission Card / Admit card, and there by cannot appear for the exam.
5. Changes/Additions/Modification of any types are not allowed, once you submit the application form. So be very careful, while submitting the application form.
6. Applicants are advised to apply early and not to wait for the Last days, as there might be several associated issues, during the closing dates of application.
