SSC CGL 2017 Sample Question

SSC CGL is an examination conducted for graduates to get a job in various Central Civil posts. So, candidates who are preparing for the examination should check the SSC CGL syllabus and its examination pattern.

The test window for SSC CGL 2017 Tier I is expected to start from August 01 to August 20, 2017. The last date to fill SSC CGL 2017 Application Form is June 16, 2017.   

SSC takes this examination at the graduate level and there are in total of 4 sections in the overall examination. The examination contains a total of 200 questions for which 200 marks remain at stake.SSC CGL 2017 examination takes place in 3 tiers and this being the first tier is the easiest among the rest.

  • Each part is of equal importance so candidates have to focus on each & every part of this exam.
  • Time yourself strictly for the paper – 75 minutes and no more.
  • It should be noted by candidates is that there is Negative Marking of 0.5 Marks in this Exam. So, plan for exam is according to the pattern & syllabus of SSC.
  • You may switch between sections as there is a consolidated time section. But the overall time limit must be strictly observed.
  • Remember that There is no Section wise Cut Off in this Exam.

Once you qualify through this preliminary stage, you qualify for the Tier II stage (Mains stage). The marks of Tier I exam count toward the final total. SSC CGL 2017 Tier I Exam is an online objective MCQ test of 100 questions worth 200 marks. This test would be of 75 minutes duration consisting of 4 sections. Here is the pattern.

Tips to Go-Through SSC CGL 2017 Questions

Step 1: Go through the complete paper.

Step 2: Create a mental plan so as to attempt the questions methodically.

Step 3: Time yourself in advance and decide which question to attempt first and which to leave.

Step 4: If you don’t know an answer, just skip the question. Attempt questions only when 90-100% sure.

Step 5: Once done with papers, check the amount of time taken.

Step 6: Start moderating your answers honestly.

Step 7: Go through each and other incorrect answer so as to not repeat the same mistakes in the exam.

C. Quantitative Aptitude

Quantitative Aptitude section is the most important area or you can say is the deciding area for a candidate in the merit list. If you are having decent basic concepts of Mathematics, then this section will be your favorite and highest scoring section. D. General Awareness

General awareness is not something you can expect to master in a day. But from an exam point of view, if you spend time consistently, you can perform well in it in relatively less time as compared to Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning section. This section acquires more importance because this is the only section which can be attempted quickly i.e. in 06-09 minutes and at the same time, decent marks can be scored in this section if prepared well.
