Staff Selection Commission is ready to conduct SSC Junior Engineer Exam 2017 throughout all the centres of the country from March 1, 2017, to March 4, 2017. SSC JE Exam 2017 will be held for recruitment of junior engineers for various fields including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract. The candidates who have applied for the examination are required to appear for Paper I, which is mandatory for all the candidates as per their respective choice of interest. Paper I consist of 200 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and is conducted in online mode. Paper I is divided into 3 sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks), General Awareness (50 marks) and General Engineering (100 marks).

1. Sleep Well

While practicing mock tests, make sure you follow this approach constantly to get well used to it for your SSC JE exam. There is one big dedicated section to engineering related questions. You are only required to brush up everything that you know. A good 100 marks is on offer in the first level. Try scoring at least 60-70 in one hour. This will give you an edge over other candidates.

5. Clear your Doubts

In case you have a doubt in any topics, don’t keep it pending. Clear your doubts while you still have time. You will be tempted to give up on a topic because it might seem too difficult but the trick is not to leave out any topic. Be prepared for everything so you can increase your chances of a high score.

6. General Awareness is tricky, be specific

There is one good thing about general awareness section- time saving. When you look at a question and its give options, you straight away realize that you either know an answer or not. You need not waste time over it by trying to solve it. If you know an answer, then select the right option, else move on to the next question.

7. Devote time to every section

You studying habits should include touching every section on a daily basis. Since, objective type paper will test you on all subjects within a time frame of 2 hours, your brain should be ready to work on all the subjects, one after the other.

8. Do not prepare any new topic

Studying new topics at the last minute can spoil your whole preparation.

9. Don’t stress

Exam is held to check also the stress level of the candidates. Don’t be panic and spoil your papers. Be confident and try to give your 110%. Mark only those questions for which you’re sure else the wrong marked answer may result in negative marking.

10. No guessing games

One amateur habit that you need to overcome is playing the guessing game. You should be well aware of the fact that all competitive exam carry a negative marking of 0.25 on every wrong answer. Hence, do not waste your hard-earned marks by playing mindless games. You should only play it when you are about 90% sure of the answer.
