NCHMCT JEE (National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Exam) is conducted to offer admission in 3-year courses of B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel management at various institutes affiliated by the council. It is conducted every year by NCHMCT (National Council of Hotel Management & Catering Technology). It is a national level exam. It is conducted every year in the month of May.  

  • Offline forms will be available from the third week of December 2017.
  • NCHMCT JEE 2018 Application Form will be available from the second week of December 2017. The filling process will continue till the second week of April 2018.
  •  The basic eligibility criteria is same for all the courses. Candidates must have passed English as a compulsory subject.
  • Candidates appearing for final exam and awaiting final result are also eligible to apply for the exam.
  • Applicants will have to get a DD of INR 800 for general & OBC candidates (DD of INR 400 for SC/ST/PD) drawn in favor of NCHMCT Payable at Noida/Delhi.
  • NCHMCT JEE 2018 Admit Card will be available from 3rd week of April 2018.
  • The exam is scheduled to be held in the fourth week of April 2018
  • There will be 3 rounds of counselling. Counselling involves verification of documents like eligibility criteria, depositing fee etc.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Eligibility

Before fill the application form, candidates will have to check if they clear the eligibility criteria. All applicants must have submitted their physical fitness certificate approved by a registered medical practitioner in the specified format as mentioned in the official website.

The common eligibility criteria for all courses are:

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should have cleared the secondary and senior secondary level of exam with English as compulsory subject. Clearing English subject is mandatory.
  • Candidates appearing for final exam and awaiting final result are also eligible to apply for the exam (provided they submit their proof of qualifying 10+2 standard exam along with other eligibility conditions at the time of admission or counselling).
  • Applicants who have finished 12 years of official schooling in order are eligible to apply for the program.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
  • Any Public-School Examination in India or in a foreign country acknowledged by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education.
  • H.S.C. Vocational Examination accepted by NCVT and SCVT of the state applicant belongs to.

Age Limit

  • The higher age limit for General & OBC applicants is 22 years as on 1st August 2018
  • The higher age limit for SC/ST is 25 years as on 1st August 2018.
  • Applicant should fulfill the minimum age criteria set by the exam conducting body.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Application Form

The application forms are to be filled from the official website of NCHMCT, www.nchm.nic.in. The application form will be available online starting from 2nd week of December 2017 to April 2018. Candidates need to fill all the details correctly that are asked in NCHMCT JEE 2018 Application Form. The application fee can be paid either through net banking or Demand Draft.

Applicants have the option of filling the application form online or offline.

Online process: Firstly, candidates have to visit the official website and search for “NCHMCT JEE 2018 admission” link.

  • Click on apply online.
  • Fill in the required details carefully.
  • After successfully filling the application form, applicants can get their registration ID number for the exam.
  • Applicants now have to upload their passport size photograph (4.5*3.5cm) and signature in JPEG format. The size of the file should not exceed be 50kb and 40kb minimum
  • To finish the registration process, the payment needs to be done. Application fee can be paid both through Demand Draft or net banking/credit card. For payment through Demand Draft, applicants will have to get a DD of INR 800 for general & OBCs (DD of INR 400 for SC/ST/PD) drawn in favor of NCHMCT Payable at Noida/Delhi.
  • The particulars of Demand Draft also have to be submitted in the application form.
  • Once applicant has submitted the duly filled application form, no changes will be allowable in the application form. Therefore, fill in the form very carefully.
  • Applicants can also track their application through login window by entering their login details.
  • The complete filled-in application form will be sent by registered post/speed post to the given address

Correction in Application form: There is no provision details once entered in the application. Therefore, it is required to upload the details very carefully.


NCHMCT 2018 Admit Card

The admit cards will be available online on the official website. NCHMCT JEE 2018 admit cards will be available from 3rd week of April 2018 to download. NCHMCT Admit card will not be delivered to candidate via courier or post services. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall without admit card.

You shall also bring one photo ID proof:

  • Driving license
  • Voter ID
  • PAN card
  • Aadhar card or any other govt. ID and
  • Notarized Affidavit with photo in which the photo of applicant is attached and clearly visible.

Candidates will not be permitted to appear for NCHMCT JEE 2018 without showing correct and suitable photo identification.

Candidates are advised to download two copies of NCHMCT Admit Card 2018 because one has to be self-attested and deposited to the invigilator for his/her signature & which will be preserved and which will be required during counselling procedure and the another one have to be carried along on the date of the examination.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Exam Centers

A total 33 exam centers have been finalized for the entrance test. The university however takes no request for change of exam centers.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Exam Pattern

NCHMCT JEE will be a 3 hour offline based exam. It will contain 200 questions from 3 topics namely Physics, chemistry, English and Mathematics.

  • One mark is awarded for every correct answer and 0.25 or ¼ will be deducted for every incorrect answer.  
  • 5 subjects that are included in entrance exam are Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude, English Language, Reasoning and Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and Aptitude for Service Sector
  •  The questions will be however MCQ type or objective. You have to choose one option from a given choice of 4 options.
  • There will be 200 questions in total.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Result

The results of NCHMCT JEE 2018 will be announced in 3rd week of May 2018. The results will be uploaded on their official website and can be checked from there. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in NCHMCT JEE written test.

The most suitable answer carries 1.00, the next suitable answer carries 0.75, the next to next suitable answer carries 0.50 marks and – 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.

If an applicant does not meet the cut off marks, the student will not be qualified for counselling. There is no provision for re-evaluation of answer sheets.

Cut off for NCHMCT

Cut off list will be provided by the conducting body. The factors affecting the cut off are:

  • Difficulty level of the exam
  • Number of seats offered
  • Total number of applicants who appeared for the exam
  • Previous Year’s cut off Trends

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Counselling

NCHMCT 2018 counselling procedure will commence from the 4th week of May 2018 or 1st week of June 2018. No call letter will be sent to applicants individually. Admission will be done on the basis of merit list i.e. the marks acquired in NCHMCT JEE 2018.

There will be 3 rounds of counselling. Counselling involves verification of documents like eligibility criteria, depositing fee etc. After NCHMCT JEE result declaration, applicants can apply for the counselling/admission process. Applicant need to deposit INR 1000 as the counselling fee. Seat reservation is specified to SC/ST category candidates only.

Procedure for counselling:

Register online on the official website, www.nchm.nic.in. The following steps are to be followed for successful counselling:

  • Mark choices and lock them
  • After locking the choices, applicants will be called for 1st round of seat allotment.
  • Seats that will remain empty after 1st round of allotment will be accessible to new allotters.
  • Choices will be changed before the beginning of 2nd round of seat allotment, if needed.
  • After second round of allotment of seats, applicants will have to register themselves again for spot round of counselling
  • After successful online registration a minimal amount has to be paid as fee for Spot Round of Counselling.
  • Next step will be to make choices for spot round after which seats will be allotted under this category.
  • Candidates will have to report at the reporting center for authentication of original documents based on which applicant will be sent to the institute allotted.

Documents Required for Counselling

  1. All mark sheets/grade reports and certificates, Original of Class X and XII, Transfer Certificate, Leaving Certificate and Character Certificate from School.
  1.  In case candidate belongs to SC, ST or non-creamy layer of OBC categories, Original caste Certificate as per Central Govt. is required.
  1. Medical Certificate should be presented if candidate is Physically Challenged (PC). It should be issued by Medical Officer of any Government Hospital with description of the kind and the degree of disability.
  1. In case the Date of Birth is not mentioned in Class X Certificate, Date of Birth (DOB) Certificate is required for the same.
  1. Original e- Admit Card, counselling letter should also be present with candidate.
  1. Three recent and clear passport size colored photographs need to be submitted. They should have candidates name and date mentioned at the back.
