IBPS Clerk 2017 Eligibility

IBPS Clerk 2017 exam will be conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to fill the vacant seats of Clerical Cadre in various participating organizations and public sector banks. The IBPS Notification will be released on August 2017. The exam comprises of two stages- Preliminary and Mains. Preliminary examination will be conducted from November 26, 2017 to December 4, 2017. Shortlisted candidates shall appear for IBPS Clerk Mains exam on December 31, 2017 and January 1, 2018.

Candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a University recognized by Government of India. Candidate must know to speak, read and write the language of the particular state that they are applying for. Minimum age requirement for IBPS Clerk 2017 is 20 years. Candidate born later than August 1, 1996 will not be considered eligible.

IBPS Clerk 2017 Eligibility

IBPS Clerk 2017 test will be conducted in two tiers i.e. Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. Candidates can apply for the exam till September 2017. But before applying for IBPS Clerk 2017 exam candidates must ascertain the parameters, on the basis of which, he/she will be eligible. There are certain specificities such as citizenship, age limit and educational qualifications, which have been defined under IBPS Clerk 2017 notification.

IBPS Clerk 2017 Academic Qualification

For the post of Clerical Cadre, candidate will have to gratify to the following academic qualifications:

  • Candidate must hold a graduate degree from a Board/University/Institution recognized by Government of India or any equivalent qualification.
  • Operating and working knowledge in computer will be required. Candidate must possess a degree/certificate in computer operations or language. If candidate had computer/ information technology as one of the subjects in high school.
  • It is important to note that candidate must have proficiency in language of the state/Union Territory from where he/she is applying. It includes reading/writing and speaking.
  • Ex-servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculate Ex-servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the union.

Age limit

Age is another factor which affects the eligibility of a candidate. To apply for IBPS Clerk 2017, candidate must be at least 20 years and maximum age limit is 28 years. Although IBPS Clerk notification has laid down the limitations pertaining to age, there are relaxations for certain section of people. Follow the table given below to know about relaxations for IBPS Clerk 2017:

A candidate must be either of the following:

  • An Indian National or can be a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan Refugee who have settled in India.
  • A person of Indian origin who has originally migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

Candidate belonging to countries other than India must present an eligibility certificate issued by authorities recommended by Government of India.

IBPS Clerk 2017 Exam Dates

IBPS Clerk 2017 Exam Dates are scheduled in a way that after completion of Prelims which are to be held on December 3 and 4, 2017, the result will be declared in the second week of December 2017 as the IBPS Clerk 2017 Mains will be conducted on December 31, 2017 and January 1, 2018. The exam consits of 100 multiple choice questions which are divided into 3 sections namely English Langauge, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Ability. All these sections consists of 30 to 35 questions each.
