IPPB Recruitment 2017: Paper Analysis

With over 650 vacancies announced for the post of Officer Scale I under IPPB, this exam was conducted on January 7 & 8, 2017. The exam was scheduled in 4 shifts (8 am, 10:30 am, 1 pm & 3:30 pm) on both the days. First slot was conducted from 9:00 - 10:00 am on January 7, 2017. The exam was held in online mode and had to be completed in an hour duration. There were 3 sections as discussed in the IPPB Scale I Officers Exam Pattern with a total of 100 questions. The total questions comprised of quantitative aptitude (35 questions), Verbal Ability (30 questions) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions).

IPPB Preliminary Exam: English Language

The level of difficulty for English Section was Moderate. Out of 30 questions 20 questions were of moderate level. Rest 10 were easy to attempt. On an average it took 15-20 minutes in solving this section as per majority of test takers.

IPPB Preliminary Exam: Reasoning Ability

The Questions in Logical Reasoning was of easy to moderate level. However there were some lengthy questions from various topics such as Syllogisms and Circular Arrangements. The Other Major Topics that covered IPPB Reasoning Ability Section were Coding-Decoding, Inequalities, Direction Distance, Puzzle Test, Linear Arrangement, Order & Ranking and other miscellaneous questions.

IPPB Preliminary Exam: Quantitative Aptitude

The level of questions asked in the section varied from easy to moderate. The sections which covered the majority of IPPB PO 2016 paper were Number Series, Approximation (Calculation Based), data interpretation and quadratic Equations.
