IOCL Recruitment 2017: Apply for Technician Apprentice Posts at Western Region

IOCL Western Region Marketing Division invites applications for recruitment of 110 post of Technician apprentice in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Goa. They recruit Candidates for the various Engineering disciplines like Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant). The Online application form is available from February 01, 2017 to February 13, 2017.

IOCL releases notification regarding the current jobs opening in the company. Candidates are advised to check their eligibility criteria given by IOCL before start applying for the particular post.

Selection of the candidates is based on the marks secured by them in the entrance examination. Those who qualify written test will be called for personal interview.

IOCL Recruitment Eligibility criteria

Before applying for IOCL Western Region Marketing Division candidates need to check their eligibility criteria which are as following:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess three years of full-time diploma in relevant Engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Laboratory Assistant from a government recognised institute.

Minimum Marks: General and OBC category candidates must secure minimum 50% aggregate marks in relevant engineering disciplines and 45% marks must secure by candidates belong to SC/ ST/PWD candidates.

Age Limit

The candidates should be minimum of 18 years in age and maximum of 24 years in age. The Following table shows the age limit criteria of various category candidates:

IOCL Recruitment 2017 How to Apply

For applying to the IOCL Recruitment 2017 candidates need to follow below steps:

  • Candidates need to fill the online application form which will be available in official website of IOCL.
  • After filling the online application form candidates need to upload the scanned copy of the colored photograph, date of birth proof, educational certificates, caste certificate if applicable, and candidate’s signature.
  • Eligible candidates will be informed via email or SMS for downloading admit card for the written test.
  • Applications will be rejected if they found to be incomplete or in case not upload the self-attested copies of documents.

Candidates are advised to take the printout of filled in online application form for future use.


Verification of documents

Candidates who successfully clear the written test will only be called for the interview. Candidates need to bring the original documents at the time of interview for verification. Following is the list of original documents along with their self-attested copies that candidates need to bring at the time of interview:

  1. 10th standard/ SSCL/ Matriculation/ mark sheet issued by education board as proof of date of birth. No other document will be accepted for candidate’s date of birth verification.
  2. Caste certificate by reserved category candidates by the prescribed government and issued by Competent Authority only.
  3. OBC category candidates must submit latest caste certificate (not more than 6 months old) issued by the government of India which specially mention that candidate does not belong to creamy layer.
  4. Certificate issued by the institute from which candidate pursue through regular mode and year of passing.
  5. Semester-wise or year-wise mark sheets of diploma in Engineering/ B.Sc (PCM).

Final diploma in Engineering/ B.Sc certificate issued by the respective board.


IOCL Recruitment Selection process

  • The selection of candidates is based on two steps i.e. written test and interview. The Written test is comprised of objective type questions and total duration to complete this test is 2 hours. Questions in the test will be based on general awareness and logical ability.
  • Those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in written test will be called for personal interview. Both the written test and personal interview contains weightage of 85% and 15% respectively.
  • Final selection of the candidate will be based on an aggregate of written test and personal interview marks.

Pay scale

Selected candidates will get a starting pay of INR 24,900/- per month. Candidates selected by IOCL Western Region Marketing Division will receive Dearness Allowances and other allowances along with the monthly pay scale. Candidates will get benefits such as accommodation, medical facilities, gratuity, employee’s pension scheme, and accident insurance scheme; leave travel concession, performance related to incentives etc. as per the IOCL rules.


IOCL Recruitment General Instructions

Candidates can read the following points to know the instructions of IOCL Recruitment which are given below:

  • Candidates are advised to read eligibility criteria and all the instructions carefully before start filling online application form.
  • All the candidates are advised to take the printout of their filled in application form for future use as it is required to download call letter from the website.
  • Candidates need to bring one ID proof in original – anyone from Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License or Passport along with the admit card at the time of written test.
  • Reserved category candidates must have latest caste certificate prescribe by the government and issued by competent authority.
  • PWD candidates must submit disability certificate issued by competent authority.
  • Candidate can apply for one discipline only if they apply more than one discipline then their application will be rejected.
  • Candidates having a higher qualification such as B.E/ B.Tech or MBA or MCA will not be considered.
  • Candidates should be medically fit as per the requirement of the corporation.
  • If the application of the candidate is incomplete or not fulfil the eligibility criteria then they treated as rejected.
