UPSEE 2018 Exam Pattern

Dr.A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will release the notification and UPSEE 2018 Exam Pattern on its official website, The information brochure along with the exam pattern will be released in the month of January 2018.

UPSEE 2018 (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) will comprise of a number of papers, different for each course. AKTU will design 11 test papers for admission into various UG engineering courses. The standard of the entrance test will be that of Higher Secondary or equivalent exam for UG courses and of graduation level for PG programs. There has been no change in the pattern of UPSEE 2018 exam and it will be the same as that for 2017.

  • The exam will consist of objective questions in the form of multiple choice questions (MCQs).
  • The mode of exam will depend on the paper chosen by the candidate.
  • The medium of language will be English and Hindi.
  • The total number of questions will vary in each paper. The maximum marks a candidate can get in each paper and also the time duration will vary according paper.
  • Each question will carry 4 marks and negative marking is not applicable.     

UPSEE 2018 is a state level exam that will be held in April, 2018. It is organized by the AKTU conducted for first year degree level as also for lateral entry into Engineering, Management and other programs in various institutes across Uttar Pradesh for the academic year 2018-2019.

UPSEE 2018 Papers for Different Courses

UPSEE 2018 will comprise of a number of papers. Aspirants must choose the paper according to the course they wish to pursue. The courses with their requirement of respective papers to be attempted are given below:

UPSEE 2018 Exam Pattern in Detail

UPSEE 2018 will comprise of 11 papers scheduled to be conducted on 3 days. The subjects tested in the exam will depend on the technical subject chosen by the candidate. The test will comprise of objective type questions to be answered in 180 minutes. Aspirants will be awarded +4 marks for every correct answer. The maximum obtainable marks will depend on the various UPSEE Papers.

The details about the exam pattern are explained clearly in this article:

  • Mode of exam: UPSEE 2018 will be conducted in online and offline mode depending on the papers.

Offline Mode- Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Paper 4 will be conducted via the offline mode. Aspirants will be required to mark their answers on an OMR sheet.

Online Mode- Paper 5, Paper 6, Paper 7, Paper 8, Paper 9, Paper 10 and Paper 11 will be conducted in the offline mode i.e. it will be a computer based test.

  • Language: The test paper will be available in English and Hindi language. It will not be provided in any other language and any request to do so shall not be entertained.
  • Type of Question: The exam will have objective type questions. All the questions will be in the form of MCQs. Each question will have 4 alternative options suggested as answers, out of which the applicant must choose one that seems the most appropriate answer.

UPSEE 2018 Marking Scheme

Applicants must know the marking scheme in order to decide how to attempt the questions in the entrance test. There will be no change in the marking scheme of UPSEE 2018 as it was for the year 2017. It should be noted that although there is no negative marking, a record of the total number of incorrect answers of applicants will be kept for preparing the merit list. The marking scheme is stated as follows:

UPSEE 2018 Exam Syllabus

UPSEE 2018 syllabus is based on the entire syllabus of 10+2 level (Class 11th and 12th) for UG courses and graduation level for PG courses. The syllabus of various programs for the test will be given in the prospectus available on the official website.

Important Instructions

Every individual must ensure that they follow some rules and regulations to maintain the decorum of the exam hall and to ensure that the UPSEE 2018 examination proceeds properly.

  • Paper 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be evaluated by OMR methodology. Aspirants must mark their responses on OMR sheets.
  • Applicants must use a ballpoint pen (Black/Blue) only to mark their answers in the OMR sheets in the UPSEE 2018 exam.
  • Questions will be given in both, English and Hindi languages. Incase of ambiguity, the English version will be considered final.
  • A record of the number of incorrect answers given by each aspirant will be maintained. This will be used as tie-breaking criteria.
