IAS Mains 2016 Essay Analysis

Essay Questions in IAS Mains 2016 are compartively more easier than the previous years. In Section B all questions were analytical type with all having OR options in them. In them two sides were asked before taking the stand. Questions having topics like Digital economy, jobless growth, water dispute all are General Studies topics which were covered by aspirants in preparaing for GS 2 and GS 3 paper. Though the precise meaning of the word ‘engendered’ is not completely related with ‘gender’, the question 1 in section A is related with gender equality as it can be inferred from the ‘Hindi Translation’ which talks about ‘Stree-Purush’. “Development, if not engendered, is endangered” is a catchy quote, taken from an UN improvement report distributed 10 years and a half prior. It discusses the requirement for gender equality.
