TS PGECET 2018 Exam Pattern

TS PGECET 2018 will be conducted in the third week of May 2018. The exam will be conducted in online mode only. Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) will release the notification and exam pattern for TS PGECET 2018 on its official website www.pgecet.tsche.ac.in .

  • TS PGECET 2018 will consist of objective questions in the form of multiple choice questions (MCQs).
  • The examination will be conducted in Online Mode only i.e. it is a Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • The duration of PGECET is 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • The medium of exam is English only.
  • The duration of TS PGECET is 2 hours (120 minutes).

The syllabus of the entrance test will be based on graduation level knowledge for each field.


TS PGECET 2018 Exam Pattern Highlights

Applicants must know the exam pattern so as to know what to expect in the entrance examination. The details about various aspects related to the entrance test like the mode of exam, exam duration, number of questions to be answered, marking scheme, etc. are stated as follows:

Exam Pattern in detail

TS PGECET 2018 will be held in the last week of May 2018. The test will comprise of a single paper to be conducted on 4 consecutive days. The subjects tested in the exam will depend on the technical subject chosen by the aspirant as the specialization course. The test will comprise 120 objective type questions to be answered in 120 minutes. The student will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer, the total marks being 120. The details about the exam pattern are explained clearly in this article.

  • Mode of exam: TS PGECET 2018 is an online test. The exam will be a Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • Duration: All the students will be given 2 hours to complete the exam. No extra time will be given to any student.
  • Language: The exam paper will be available in the English language only.
  • Type of Question: The test will consist of objective type questions. All the questions will be in the form of MCQs. Every question will have 4 alternative options suggested as answers, out of which the student must choose one that seems the most suitable answer.
  • Number of questions: The aspirant will be required to solve a total of 120 MCQs.

TS PGECET 2018 Marking Scheme

The aspirants must know marking scheme in order to decide how to tackle the questions in PG entrance exam. No change is expected in the marking scheme and it is the same as it was for the previous year. The marking scheme of TS PGECET 2018 is stated as follows:

  • 1 mark will be awarded to the applicants for marking every accurate response.
  • No penalty will be charged for marking incorrect or wrong answers i.e. negative marking is not applicable. Hence, no mark will be deducted from the total score.
  • No mark will be deducted from the score of the candidate for leaving a question blank or failure in attempting it.
  • The marking of two options as answers is not possible as it is an online test.

TS PGECET 2018 Qualifying Marks

TSCHE has specified the qualifying marks for TS PGECET 2018 as 30 for the General Category candidates. The aspirants belonging to SC/ST category will be exempted from this cut off and there will be no qualifying marks for them. Admissions to all PG courses will be done based on merit only. A merit list of shortlisted aspirants for respective courses will be declared and these applicants must attend TS PGECET 2018 Counselling.

Important Instructions

Applicants must ensure that they follow some rules and regulations to maintain the decorum of the exam hall and to ensure that the examination proceeds properly.

  • Reporting time is 1 hour before the exam commences.
  • Items like slide rulers, calculator, logarithm table, mobile phones etc. will not be allowed inside the exam centre.
  • The computer screen will also display the time left for the exam to get over along with the question.
  • To choose a response, simply click on the appropriate option using the mouse. To change your response, click on the option you wish to and that will be marked as your answer.
