NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
DMRC 2017 exam will now be conducted online (Computer based Test) as opposed to the paper based test. Candidates need to fill in the details in the ‘Sign In’ window. Candidates need to fill in their Roll Numbers as the ID and Date of birth as the password. The answers need to be clicked using the mouse. Keyboards cannot be accessed to answer the questions.
After entering the details successfully, the instructions page will pop-up giving the directions for answering in the DMRC exam. The timer will appear on the top right of the window. This will help in keeping track while answering the questions.
Candidates can select the right option by clicking on the option and clicking on ‘Save & Next’ button. If a candidate needs to change his//her answer, then you need to click on ‘Clear Response’ button to reset your answer. Candidates can also skip the questions or mark the question for review. The details of this process are provided in this article.
DMRC Recruitment 2017 exam will be conducted in 2 parts- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The questions in Paper-1 will be both in English and Hindi while the questions in Paper-2 will be in English only. Paper 1 carries 120 questions and paper 2 carries 60 questions.
The total duration of the exam is 2 hour 15 minutes. Time duration for Paper-1 is 90 minutes and Paper-2 is 45 minutes. All the questions are in MCQ (multiple choice questions) format. Each question carries 4 options and out of them only 1 option is correct. Negative marking is also applicable in DMRC.

DMRC 2017 exam window will look like the image given below. The candidate needs to fill in the Roll No. and Date of Birth as the password to Log in the exam window. The exam window should contain the candidate’s name and photo on the upper right corner of the window. Make sure the details appearing on the window are correct. Any discrepancy in the details should be immediately reported to the invigilator.

Navigation in the exam window can be troublesome. Hence, DMRC 2017 exam provides Navigation Instructions below the Online Test Instructions. These instructions provide the detailed steps on answering the questions in the exam window. These instructions will help the student to move from one question to the next. The DMRC exam also provides the steps to answer the questions to make it easier for the students. Candidates need to get acquainted with this part very thoroughly to make it easier for them to use the interface during the exam. Procedure for answering the questions are:
Candidates need to accept terms and conditions before starting the examination. You can choose the default language of the paper. The paper is available in two languages – English and Hindi.
The exam window contains the questions on the right where one can jump from one question to another. Candidates can read instructions again which are provided on the far top right of the window. To select the right answer, click ono the correct option and click on ‘Save & Next Option’ to move to the next question. If a candidate needs to skip the questions just click on the ‘Save & Next’ button.
Once done, the candidate needs to click on the ‘Submit’ button to submit the test before the time limit. The test will be automatically submitted once the time runs out.
At the end of the examination, a summary window will pop-up giving you the details of the questions answered, not answered, questions marked for review and questions not visited. After going through the details, you can submit the window to end the test.
The original exam will contain different tabs along with General Knowledge section. You can switch between the sections during the exam. Paper-1 will have 4 sections. The candidate can switch between different sections in the paper. Paper-2 will have the English section only. After finishing each Paper -1 and Paper-2 the summary window will provide you with the performance in the paper in terms of number of questions attempted.
