Central Teacher Eligibility Test, CTET is conducted twice a year by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The CTET second phase is scheduled on September 18, 2016.It’s forPrimary or Elementary teacher jobs in schools which owned by the government or central government, unaided private schools and schools under the administrative control of union territories. All aspirants seeking to join the education sector as teachers are required to appear for CTET.

Gateway to the Primary and Elementary level Teaching jobs, CTET September 2016 will consist of two papers to be conducted into two sessions for the respective job openings. Morning Session wil be conducted for the Elementary level teaching jobs and Evening Session is conducted for Primary level teaching jobs. Test duration will be 180 minutes for candidates to answer 270 questions divided among several sections.

The CTET September 2016 Paper I & II is scheduled on September 18, 2016. The table below gives the important information about CTET Exam Pattern including examination date, time and duration of CTET September 2016.

Paper – I: Candidates who intend to be a teacher for classes I to V. 

Paper –II: Candidates who intend to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Know the CTET Exam Pattern

There are multiple choice questions (MCQ), with four options among which one is the correct answer. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking.

Nature and standard of questions for September 2016

Child Development and Pedagogy section focus on learning and educational psychology of teaching to the relevant age group of 6 – 11 years. It mainly focuses on understanding the needs and characteristics of diverse learners. Moreover, it makes a session for interaction to study the learner’s attributes and qualities.

Language I focus on understanding the level of proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.

Language II focus on understanding the elements of language, comprehension and communication skills or abilities.

The language I and language II both are different in nature, so candidate may choose any one language from an above-mentioned language and have to specify the same in the confirmation page.

Mathematics and Environmental Studies focus on understanding the problem-solving concepts, subjects, etc.

All the questions in the test for Paper – I & II will be based on NCERT books, study material for classes I to V and VI to VIII, but just the level of difficulty could be up to the secondary stage.

The question paper will be Bilingual i.e. (English / Hindi) both.

CTET Exam: Code of Conduct

1. The examination room will open 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam. So, candidates make sure that they reach the exam center on time. In case some do not report on time due to any reason, i.e. jam, delay, etc., they are likely to miss some important announcements. 

2. A candidate must carry his / her CTET Admit Card, which you have downloaded from CTET official website. A candidate without Admit Card shall not be permitted in the examination.

3. According to the roll number, the seats will be allotted to each candidate. So, sit according to that only, if any candidate found to have changed room or seat than his / her paper will be get cancelled and no excuses will be accepted for it.

4. A candidate who comes after the commencement of the exam shall not be permitted to sit for an examination.

5. Following items will not be permitted during the test session:

a. Any communication devices such as mobile phones, pager, and health band, earphones, Bluetooth, etc.

b. Any stationery items such as pencil box, plastic pouch, eraser, writing pad, electronic pen, cardboard, etc.

c. Any goggles, wrist watch, camera, handbag, etc.

d. Any item which is used for unfair means will not be allowed.

6. Candidates should not leave the examination hall without submitting the OMR and answer sheet to an invigilator.

7. Each candidate will get the test booklet and answer sheet 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam.

9. The candidate should bring their own black or blue ball point pen.

10. On receiving the test booklet, the candidate will have to fill up the particulars. He / she will not open the test booklet until any announcement made by the invigilator. 

11. The candidate should check their test booklet that it is printed on both sides and if not immediately report the invigilator and five minutes before the commencement of the exam the candidate will be asked to open the test booklet.

12. The candidate will have to write the correct booklet number or code on the attendance sheet.

13. The test will start on time exactly as mentioned on the Admit Card.

14. The candidate must carry their Voter ID as an identification proof.

CTET September 2016 Result & Counselling

The Paper I & II result declaration will be on or before 2nd week of November (tentatively). And, also the candidates can predict their CTET Result by viewing the CTET Answer Key published on the official website. The candidate who scores 60% marks in the CTET is considered eligible to obtain the CTET Certificate. The candidate can dispatch their CTET marks statement/ certificate from December onwards.

CTET Exam over the years

Almost 8 lakh candidates showed up for CTET when it was initially conducted in the year 2011. Just 9% of the candidates who showed up for CTET that year qualified and no improvement has been since then.

In the year 2012 scarcely 1% of the candidates showing up for CTET could qualify.
