It is conducted in two rounds- Preliminary Round & Mains Round. The final IBPS Recruitment of Probationary Officer is finalized through an IBPS PO Interview process. IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) acts as the conducting body of the examination.
IBPS PO Prelims was conducted on October 16, 22 and 23, 2016. The shortlisted candidates appeared in the IBPS PO Mains on November 20, 2016. Based on the scores obtained in the Mains round of IBPS Exam, the qualified candidates are selected for IBPS PO Interview.
The IBPS PO Interview is conducted by the Participating banks and co-ordinated by the Nodal Bank. IBPS conducts the interview state-wise. The centers for interview along with address, time and date are mentioned in the IBPS Admit Card. Although there is no provision of changing the allotted centers for the candidates, date or time, yet the conducting agencies reserve the authority to change the same under unavoidable circumstances, if any.
The candidates have to obtain a minimum cut-off decided by IBPS Board for each section of the Mains round of IBPS Exam and also a total minimum cut off the score. The cut off is decided on the basis of the number of vacancies present in the participating organizations for the session. The authority considers only the Mains scores to shortlist the candidates for the interview round and not the scores of the Prelims round of IBPS Exam. However, the conducting authority does not declare the IBPS PO Mains scores prior to the interview process. The candidates selected for interview are informed via Call Letters.
The total marks of the IBPS PO Interview process are 100. The minimum qualifying marks is 40 % for the Unreserved categories and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. IBPS has allotted a weightage ratio of 80:20 for Mains and the Interview scores respectively. IBPS does not disclose the scores of the candidates who do not qualify the minimum marks or are otherwise disqualified from the interview. The candidates can check their score on the official website of IBPS when declared.
