  • Give a brief of your education background (up to plus two is fine, your family and location, any of your hobbies etc.
  • You can also mention one of your major achievements, if it fits the circumstance.
  • Keep the answer to just about 3-4 sentences and not more than that.

  • Keep the answer simple, to the point and give space and time for further questions. Do not stretch it too much.

Q. Talk about your family background

This is another question that might be asked. It will be considered as a base question, meaning all the questions that will be asked will be based on this. Like: Why did you choose this career/ sector etc.

Q. What are your strengths and weaknesses? Or What are your key strengths?

A. This is another most common question in any HR interview. The idea here is to understand how much you know about yourself and how confident you are about your strengths. It is better for the candidate to:

  • Just stay positive. Even a simple answer like “I am a very positive person” is good enough.
  • You can also change this as per the requirement of the interview. Knowing a bit about the profile you are being interviewed helps as well.
  • Explaining your strength with an experience from the past is desirable here.

One should make sure while talking about their weakness try to modify the answer so that it acts like a positive answer to them.  Also, try to make your answer job related.

Q. If you could change one thing about your personality, what would it be and why?

A. This question is another variation to the weakness question. You can provide a similar type of question unless it is the same person asking them.  To answer this question, think of a person you respect and the trait they have that you really like.

Q. What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself five years from now? Ten years?

A. This type of question could be a trap. we should say that i always plan the things step by step that`s why I have a ready plan for the coming up year and that is feasible. If I say that to get a job and to settle myself in the company would be a practical answer.

Q. Why should we hire you? Or Why do you think you should be hired?

It is another question where you should modify your answer as per your strength and weaknesses.
