VITMEE Syllabus for Civil Engineering

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) conducts VIT Master’s Entrance Exam (VITMEE) for those candidates who want to get admission in Civil Engineering programme and other postgraduate Engineering courses. The university takes admission for Vellore and Chennai campuses.

VIT University is responsible for announcing the syllabus for VITMEE which is scheduled to be held on June 3 & 4, 2017. Students can check the VITMEE syllabus for thirteen papers that will be organized for M.Tech admissions. Candidates can download and check the syllabus for VITMEE and can also check the important topics they need to study for entrance exam.

While preparing for VITMEE Civil Engineering, students have to go through all the 8 subjects such as Geotechnical Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Mathematics, General Aptitude, Water Resource Engineering and Environment Engineering.

At the time of entrance examination, students are free to attempt all the questions because there is no negative marking. The time duration to complete the paper is 2 hours. The examination will be conducted in two sessions i.e. Session I and Session II. Session I will be conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, whereas Session II starts from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

VITMEE Preparation Tips for Civil Engineering

Students must make a proper preparation strategy to secure better marks in the entrance exam. Following is the list of some preparation tips that candidates need to take care while preparing for the exam:

  • Proper Time Table: It is very important to make a timetable and stick to it.
  • Clarity of concepts: Students must have clear idea regarding formulas and concepts rather than learning other things. The basics should be very clear related to any concept.
  • Notes preparation: Do make small notes and write down lost of important formulas based on each topic and chapters. Preparation notes will make things easy at the time of revision.
  • Sample Papers: Students must solve sample papers so that they will get an idea about the style of paper, type of question, marking distribution and other things.
  • Take Guidance: It is better to take guidance from teachers or instructors related to a topic rather than sit quietly and leaving particular topic unprepared. It is necessary to clear all the doubts regarding particular topic.
  • Mock Tests: Students must attempt mock tests because they not only provide the similar feel of the exam but also helps in building confidence to face the exam. This helps candidate to improve their performance in the exam.
  • Time Management: By regularly practising the mock tests or by solving sample papers, students come to learn how to do time management.
  • Take proper rest: There must always be some time to do rest because after doing rest candidates feel more energetic, fresh and relaxed.

VITMEE 2018 Sample Question Paper

By solving previous year question papers students can easily get the idea about the examination pattern, marking scheme, difficulty level of paper, type of questions and other things. They are advised to read all the instruction carefully written on the question paper.
