CLAT 2017 Seat Allotment

CLAT 2017 Seat Allotment will start from June 05, 2017. The admissions to LLB and LLM courses will be based on merit-cum-preferences of the candidates. It is a process involved in counselling for admission to NLUs (National Law Universities). The allotment of seats in the NLUs will be done only if they are in the merit list and their preferences.

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is an all India law entrance exam, conducted rotationally by 18 NLUs (National Law Universities). It is held for the candidates seeking admission in various Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate degree programmes offered by the NLUs.

CLAT is conducted in Online mode (CBT- Computer Based Test) and the questions are objective in nature. There are 200 questions in the test paper for LLB and 150 questions in the test paper for LLM courses. The eligibility to appear in CLAT is 10+2 for LLB programmes, and LLB or equivalent degree for LLM programmes. For every correct answer 1 mark is awarded but for every wrong answer 0.25 mark is deducted.


CLAT Seat Allotment 2017

After the CLAT Result 2017 is declared, the counselling schedule is released by the CLAT Participating Colleges 2017. Candidates should make sure to go through the following table to know the seats available in various NLUs.

In the following table, course wise seat matrix is mentioned. Through CLAT exam, candidate can get into undergraduate and postgraduate course- LLB (Bachelor of Laws) and LLM  (Master of Laws).

Instructions for CLAT 2017 Seat Allotment

Candidates appearing for the admission process can check the instructions for seat allotment as mentioned below:

  • CLAT 2017 Seat Allotment is an online process and organized by CNLU Patna and CLAT Committee. The first round for seat allotment will start from June 05, 2017.
  • According to the CLAT 2017 Admission Process, candidates who qualify the CLAT 2017 Cutoff will be included in the first merit list. They will be called for first round of seat allotment.
  • Candidates can find their allotted NLU against their names by login through registration number or roll number.
  • After the allotment of NLU, candidate is required to deposit a counselling fee of INR 50,000 for the admission. If candidate fail to deposit the counselling fee, they will lose the allotted seat for CLAT admission.
  • The admission committee will include the shortlisted candidates in CLAT Seat Allotment list against the dropped-out candidates.
  • Candidates can also the withdraw from the admission process before the announcement of the fourth CLAT Seat Allotment list.
  • Finally, all the candidates who have been allotted seats need to report to their allotted NLUs and deposit the remaining fees. If they are not able to report at the NLUs as per schedule. They will be lose their seat and the entire counselling fee will be forfeited.
