NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The second allotment list of the counseling process in CLAT 2016 has been published on the CLAT official website. CLAT Counseling is done through centralized counselling conducted by the RJNLU Patiala. The allotment is done on the basis of merit-cum-preference. The schedule of the counselling procedure is given on the official website of CLAT. Only the candidates who are selected can participate in the counselling process.
The university will publish the First Allotment List on the basis of merit and preference of their choice filling on the official website.
STEP 2: Payment of fee and option selection
The candidates must pay the counseling fee and the provisionally selected candidates will exercise their option.
The candidates selected on the basis of merit cum preference will participate in the counseling process. The candidates will be selected from all the categories against the actual number of seats. All the selected candidates who wish to participate in the counseling process must pay the counseling fee of 50,000/-. The candidates who fail to pay the counselling fee will lose their right to participate further in the counselling process and will their names will be dropped from the counselling process. This counselling fee of 50,000/- is adjustable and will be then transferred to the respective NLU where the candidate is finally admitted. The candidates who pays the counseling fee can exercise one of the following options:
STEP 3: In the second step of CLAT Counselling, the second allotment list is published after the payment of the counseling fee.
The candidates who have paid the counseling fee in the second round of counselling process of CLAT 2016 will be allotted NLUs. A list of waitlisted candidates will also be released. The list of the waitlisted candidates will be made against the candidates who dropped out of the counseling process.
The provisionally selected candidates must pay a sum of 50,000/- as their counselling fee to exercise the option to shift or to lock. They can withdraw their admission process from the counseling process. The candidates who withdraw the admission from the counseling after being allotted a NLU will have to face a deduction of 10,000/- from their counselling fee.

STEP 4: In the fourth step, the third allotment list is published. The candidates who have paid the counselling fee, will be allotted NLUs. The list will include the candidates of the indicative list issued in the last round. A list of waitlisted candidates will be published from the third allotment list which will be against the dropped out candidates. These candidates must pay the counselling fee to exercise the option of shift and lock to reserve their seats.
STEP 5: Completion of admission at the NLUs
In this step, the candidates must go to the allotted NLU and complete the admission process.
STEP 6: Publication of Fourth and Final Allotment List
The CLAT 2016 Office will publish the final and fourth allotment list. This list will consist the candidates who have paid their counselling fee and reserved their seat in the NLUs against the first, second and third indicative list. The candidates whose names are added in the list in the fourth list itself and whose name appear fresh in the allotment list must pay their counselling fee of 50,000/- till July 1, 2016.

STEP 7: Completion of the Admission Process against the Fourth Allotment List
If any candidate of a waiting list does not gets any NLU allotted through the entire application process, in such a situation, the complete amount of 50,000/- will be refunded to his/her account.
