TS LAWCET 2018, designated as Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test 2018, is an offline National Level Exam conducted for admission into 3 year and 5 year LLB courses in the state of Telangana. TS LAWCET is conducted by Kakatiya University on behalf of TSCHE (Telangana State Council for Higher Education) which is the authority responsible for control of Higher Education in the state.

  • To appear in TS LAWCET 2018, candidates have to fulfill eligibility criteria which are set by TSCHE.
  • Candidates can fill TS LAWCET 2018 Application Form on their official website, there are some mandatory details set by TSCHE which a candidate needs to fill in the form.
  • There are 4 to 5 deadlines given for filling the application form. If candidate fills form before first deadline, he/she does not need to pay any late fees, however, subsequent deadlines may attract a late fee which is decided by TSCHE.
  • TS LAWCET 2018 is expected to be held in 4th week of May 2018 (Last Saturday of May, to be precise).
  • TS LAWCET 2018 Results are expected to arrive in 2nd week of June 2018.
  • TS LAWCET 2018 has 12 regional centers in which candidate can appear for exam.

TS LAWCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Telangana State Council for Higher education sets out the eligibility criteria for a candidate to appear in TS LAWCET 2018.  However, the criteria may vary on the basis of the course that a candidate is opting to get admission in, 3 year LLB course or 5 year LLB course.

Following table may sum up the criteria that make a candidate eligible to appear in TS LAWCET 2018:

3 Year LLBFor admission in 3 Year LLB, candidate must have successfully passed any Graduate degree with at least 45% marks or any other examination of 10+2+3 pattern which is considered equivalent to university degree. In case candidate has scored less than 45% marks, he/she should have passed an additional degree with at least 45% marks.
5 Year LLBFor admission in 5 year LLB, candidate should have passed two year Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with at least 45% aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or by Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana.

There also exists and age limit criteria for admission into LLB course, a candidate should keep in mind those criteria also while going for TS LAWCET 2018. The age criteria for LLB admission through TS LAWCET 2018 is as follows:

3 Year LLBMaximum age of a candidate seeking admission in 3 Year LLB course can be 30 years. However, SC/ST candidates are provided a relaxation of 5 years in this regard, which means maximum age for them is 35 years.
5 Year LLBMaximum age of a candidate seeking admission in 5 Year LLB course can be 20 years. However, SC/ST candidates are provided a relaxation of 2 years in this regards, which means maximum age for them is 22 years.

TS LAWCET 2018 Application Form

Filling of Online Application form for TS LAWCET 2018 is expected to begin in 3rd week of March 2018. Form for TS LAWCET can be filled in online only and candidates can reach the official website, www.lawcet.tsche.ac.in to apply for the exam.

Following are the steps a candidate needs to follow to fill the form for TS LAWCET 2018:

  • Reach the official website of TS LAWCET 2018, www.lawcet.tsche.ac.in.
  • Click on ‘Apply Online’.
  • This will redirect candidate to the page to fill the details and upload the documents necessary for applying for TS LAWCET 2018.
  • Fees for TS LAWCET 2018 can be paid at Telangana State Online Centers/Citizen Service Centers, e–Seva Centers in Telangana and also through online mode (Credit Card/Debit Card).
  • Now candidate can submit his TS LAWCET 2018 form.
  • If candidate has entered his/her email id in TS LAWCET 2018 application form, then candidate will receive a copy of duly filled form in email inbox. Otherwise, candidates are advised to keep a print out of application form with them for future reference.

Application Fee

Application fee for TS LAWCET 2018 is decided by TSCHE and can be changed by the authority as per its discretion.

TS LAWCET 2018 Syllabus

Syllabus for TS LAWCET 2018 majorly includes 4 subjects, which are General Knowledge, Mental Ability, Current Affairs along with Aptitude for study of Law. 

  • For 5 year LLB Course, the standard expected is of Class 12/Intermediate level and for 3 year LLB Course, the standard expected is of Graduate/Degree Level.
  • For questions on the topic Aptitude for the study of Law, beginner level knowledge of the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India on the part of the candidate is assumed.

TS LAWCET 2018 Exam Pattern

Exam pattern for TS LAWCET 2018 is under the discretion of TSCHE and is subject to changes year by year. However, it is notable that TSCHE does not recommend any direct syllabus for TS LAWCET 2018. Only a little guidance about Exam pattern and syllabus is given.

Here are some important points about the exam pattern for TS LAWCET 2018:

  • The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120 and the time allotted to candidates for test is 90 minutes.
  • Part A consists of 30 questions on the topic General Knowledge and Mental Ability.
  • Part B Consists of 30 questions on the topic Current Affairs
  • Part C consists of 60 questions Aptitude for the Study of Law.
  • The questions in TS LAWCET 2018 will be of Multiple Choice type.
  • Each Question will have 4 options, with only one being correct.
  • There is no provision of negative marking in TS LAWCET 2018.

TS LAWCET 2018 Results

Results for TS LAWCET 2018 will be declared on the official website of TS LAWCET 2018 and are expected to arrive in 2nd week of June 2018.

Here are some important things to note about TS LAWCET 2018 Result:

  • Before announcement of official results, TSCHE releases the preliminary answer key for TS LAWCET 2018, which is expected to arrive in Last Week of May 2018.
  • Students can view the answer key and report the fallacies in answer key within 3 to 4 days from its release.
  • In 2nd week of June, 2018 TSCHE will release final answer key for TS LAWCET 2018 and the result for the same.
  • Candidates can view the result of TS LAWCET 2018 by filling their application number and Date of Birth.

TS LAWCET 2018 Cut off

TSCHE has set minimum qualifying marks criteria for admission in LLB courses. A candidate has to surpass this limit of minimum marks to be able to get admission.

Here are some details about qualifying marks criteria for TS LAWCET 2018:

  • The qualifying marks for General category students in TS LAWCET 2018 are expected to be 35%, translating into 42 marks out of 120.
  • There are no criteria of minimum qualifying marks for TS LAWCET 2018 SC/ST category students.

TS LAWCET 2018 Counselling and Selection Process

After the declaration of results of TS LAWCET 2018, candidates need to appear in the counselling process of various colleges and universities which come under TS LAWCET 2018. No candidate will be given admission in any course if he/she does not appear in the counselling process of respective institute.

Candidates need to carry following documents in the counselling process of colleges and universities under TS LAWCET 2018:
