DU LLB 2018 Result

Delhi University LLB Entrance Examination (DU LLB) 2018 will be released by Delhi University (DU) through online mode. Scorecard of each candidate can be individually checked by login into the account, while a consolidated online result sheet of exam will be published by DU.

  • Expected date for announcement of result for exam is first week of July 2018.
  • DU LLB 2018 Result will be published in pdf format and will entail the detailed examination performance of each candidate, who has given exam 
  • Every candidate’s name, roll number and rank (All India Rank and Category Rank) as well as marks and examination qualifying status will be mentioned in result sheet
  • Result will be declared on the official website of Delhi University – http://www.du.ac.in/
  • Faculty of Law, University of Delhi will be responsible for declaring the result of DU LLB 2018
  • A merit list of candidates will also be published by the central university
  • Merit list for DU LLB 2018 will be considered as its rank list, since it will state All India Rank and Category Rank of candidates depending upon their performance in entrance exam
  • Candidate needs to personally be present to attend the counselling rounds for the three-year LLB courses

DU LLB is a university level entrance exam conducted once every year. DU LLB is conducted by Faculty of Law, for the candidates seeking admission to 3- year law program.


Important Dates for DU LLB 2018

DU LLB 2018 Result will most probably be announced by University of Delhi in the first week of July 2018. Subsequent to declaration of result and publishing of merit list, which is also rank list in case of this exam, counselling sessions will commence. Counselling process is likely to begin from last week of July 2018.

How to Check DU LLB 2018 Result

Result for the annual entrance exam for admission into LLB under graduate courses offered by Faculty of Law, Delhi University, are likely to be declared in the first week of July 2018. Candidates will have to download their results online only. No personal correspondence will be sent to candidates for result declaration. Results announced by DU will be deemed as final and no requests of change or modifications or rechecking will be entertained thereafter. To download their results candidates must perform the following steps:

  • Go to the official website of DU
  • Click on ‘UG Admissions’ tab and navigate to ‘UG (entrance based) Admissions (2017-18)’
  • Use unique username (E-mail ID/DU LLB 2018 roll or registration number) and password (self-created password/date of birth) credentials to login into the registered account
  • Click on ‘Result’ tab
  • Download the scorecard
  • Take print out of scorecard for further reference

Merit list for DU LLB 2018 will be published along with the declaration of result for exam. It is calculated on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in exam. Merit list contains both All India Rank and Category Rank of each candidate who appeared for exam. Merit list serves as the rank list on the basis of which admissions are granted into three-year LLB courses.

Score card of each candidate contains following information:

  • Roll Number
  • Name
  • Subject-wise score
  • Consolidated Score
  • Category Marks
  • Category Rank
  • Combined Rank

DU LLB 2018 Answer Key

DU LLB 2018 Answer Key will be published by DU in July 2018. It is declared within 1-2 days after entrance exam is successfully conducted. Answer keys are likely to be published in two stages – first stage of published answer keys will be provisional, while second stage of answer key will be final. DU will provide candidates with an opportunity to raise objections against the provisional answer key. For this candidate will have to write to the Dean of Faculty of Law, Delhi University, along with documents supporting a different answer than published in provisional answer key

Once all objections are verified, DU publishes the final answer key. Answer key can be used by candidates to arrive at a rough estimate of their score by adding 4 marks each for every correct answer and deducting 1 mark for every incorrect answer. Total number of questions asked in entrance exam is 175

Tie-Break Criteria

In case equal scores are secured by two or more candidates in entrance exam then it results in a tie in merit list and result. However, candidates cannot be awarded same merit and therefore, the tie needs to be broken. Following procedure is applied by the University for breaking the tie - 

  • First preference will be given to candidate, who would have scored higher marks in the qualifying Bachelor’s examination
  • In case candidates have scores same marks in qualifying examination, then preference will be given to candidate who is older in age
  • However, if candidates are same in age then tie is broken by conducting draw of lots

DU LLB 2018 Cut Off

Cut Off lists for DU LLB 2018 will be published by DU, subsequent to tentative declaration of exam result in the first week of July 2018. DU publishes two types of cutoff lists:

  • Cut Off Marks
  • Cut Off Ranks

There are various factors affecting cut off for DU LLB 2018 such as:

  • Number of candidates appearing for entrance exam
  • Total number of seats being offered by DU
  • Cutoff trends of previous years
  • Level of difficulty of entrance exam

DU LLB 2018 Counselling

DU LLB 2018 Counselling will be organized by Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. Eligible candidates will have to personally appear for counselling sessions, with all the necessary documents. Conducting authority might hold nearly six rounds of counselling for admission into LLB courses. The steps involved in counselling process are:

  • Faculty of Law, DU will call those candidates for counselling process, who appear in merit list and also meet cut off requirement for law admission in DU
  • Candidates will be required to be part of DU LLB 2018 Counselling depending upon their respective rank in merit/rank list published by DU subsequent to declaration of result
  • Candidate will have to appear for counselling session as per the schedule issued by University
  • Following documents have to carry following documents, when coming for counselling session

  3. Passing Certificate of Graduation
  4. Caste Certificate
  5. Valid Admit Card of Gateway Exam
