JKCET 2018 Exam Pattern

JKCET 2018 is scheduled to be held in the second week of May 2018 while Results will be announced by the last week of May 2018. Candidates who will qualify JKCET 2018 will be eligible to appear in JKCET 2018 Counselling process.

  • JKCET 2018 will be Pen and Paper based test.
  • JKCET 2018 question paper will have 180 multiple choice questions.
  • JKCET 2018 consists of two papers each for PCB and PCM group
  • Part A questions paper will have 120 questions from Physics and Chemistry.
  • Part B will have 60 questions from Biology and Part C will have 60 questions from Mathematics.
  • All the questions will carry one mark each while 0.25 marks will be deducted on account of every incorrect response.
  • Candidates will have 120 minutes to answer Part A while Part B/Part C can be attempted within 60 minutes.

Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) is a State level entrance exam conducted by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations(JKBOPEE) for 10+2/HSC candidates who wish to get admission in Engineering, Pharmacy and Agriculture courses in the various government and private institutions situated in the state J&K.

JKCET 2018 Exam Pattern

JKCET 2018 will be Pen & paper based test. JKCET 2018 examination will consist of two papers - Paper A which is compulsory consists of Physics and Chemistry and Paper B for Biology or Paper C for Mathematics. The question paper will comprise 60 Multiple Choice Questions per subject with a total of 180 questions.

The duration of JKCET 2018 is 180 minutes. The duration of Paper A (Physics & Chemistry) is 120 minutes while Paper B/Paper C will be of 60 minutes hour.  JKCET 2018 Exam Pattern is based on the syllabus of 10+2 prescribed by Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination. Before appearing in any stage of JKCET, candidates must go through JKCET 2018 Exam Pattern.

JKCET 2018 Marking Scheme

JKCET 2018 question paper will consist of a total of 180 marks. Each paper will carry 60 marks each. One marks will be awarded to the candidate for each right answer while 0.25 mark will be deducted from his score for each wrong answer.

Important Instructions

These are some important instructions for JKCET 2018 Exam that candidates should follow.

  • No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre other than that allotted to him/her in the Admit Card.
  • No candidate will be allowed to appear in the examination whose Hall Ticket is not issued by the JKPOBEE.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination centre/hall after the commencement of examination.
  • Candidates are advised to bring a valid Photo Identity card(in original) along with their printout of JKCET 2018 Admit Card on the day of examination.
  • After the invigilator has verified JKCET 2018 Admit Card of the candidate, he must sign on the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator and mention the hall ticket number also.
  • Do not deface, distort, mutilate or damage the OMR Sheet. It should be kept in the excellent conditions.
  • Any kind of tampering in the OMR Sheet may lead to the direct disqualification. 
  • The candidate should follow the instructions given by the invigilators in the examination room
  • Candidates should not indulge in any argument with the invigilators or other staff involved in the examination duty at the examination centre. The candidates, who will not follow the instructions, will be treated as Unfair Means and his/her result will not be declared.
  • The candidate should neither talk to each other nor discuss any matter during the examination.
  • The candidate should not disturb other candidates in the examination room and maintain complete silence during the examination.
  • Candidates are not permitted to carry any electronic device and study material at examination hall like (Mobile, Bluetooth, Pager, watch, test series, books, model papers, etc.)
  • The decision of JKPOBEE shall be final in all matters.
