JKCET 2017 Answer Key and Paper Analysis

JKCET 2017- Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) was successfully conducted on May 28, 2017. 11163 candidates had applied against which 8866 candidates appeared both at Srinagar and Jammu centers. It was a pen and paper-based test.

 The question paper was divided into 4 sets- A, B, C and D. JKBOPEE has released the official answer key today and candidates can go through the link mentioned below to get a clear idea about their marks and here is some really important information regarding the same.

  • The Answer keys are available on the main site i.e. www.jkbopee.org
  • Answers are provided not subject wise but set wise(A,B,C and D)
  • The answer key will be available online only for three days.
  • If any candidate is not satisfied with any of the answer provided in the answer key, they can make written representation supported by documentary proof of standard text Books in the prescribed format.
  • Candidate has to deposit Rs. 1000/- as a challenge fee.

How to download JKCET Answer Key 2017?

  • For checking the JKCET 2017 answer sheet, go through the above mentioned link i.e. www.jkbopee.org.
  • Click at the JKCET answer key option.
  • Download the answer keys and you can easily view the answer key in the Downloads.
  • Every answer is given against its question number and is not divided subject wise so be careful while checking the answers.
  • After checking the answer keys just go through the marking scheme pattern explained below to calculate your marks in a better way.
  • The result will be announced in the last week of May or in the First week of June and counselling will take place depending upon the result, in July.

Marking Scheme and Section Wise Analysis:

  • It is a state level examination organized for admission to the Engineering and Architecture (B.Tech & B-Arch) programmes.
  • JKCET 2017 was divided into three sections with the total of 180 marks.
  • Section A was compulsory and consisted of Physics and Chemistry questions and Section B and C were optional and consisted of Biology and Mathematics respectively and candidates had to attempt one out of the two depending on their subjects.
  • Paper was in the form of MCQ. 1 mark for the correct answers and 0.25 deduction for the wrong ones.
  • Section A consisted of 120 marks (Physics+ Chemistry) and Section A questions were moderate and easy to solve if gone through all the previous year JKCET question papers.
  • In the Physics section, majority of the questions were asked from optics while Inorganic chemistry in the Chemistry section carried the highest weightage.
  • Section B or C was of 60 marks i.e. Mathematics or Biology.

In section C, mathematics, Calculus and Geometry’s questions covered most of the section.
 


JKCET Paper Analysis 2017

Overall structure of the JKCET exam did not vary much and was the same as that of the previous years, with 3 sections, with section A consisting of 120 marks and section B and C of 60 marks. Each question had 4 options. Most of the questions ranged from easy to moderate and 5-7% questions were higher level questions. 


JKCET 2017 Sectional Analysis

The analysis of each of all the sections is given below.

Section A: Physics and Chemistry

Physics:

Physics is one of the important topics to cover for JKCET. The Section consists of 60 questions in Paper A. JKCET 2017 Physics syllabus is based on the syllabus of 10+2 prescribed by Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination. Physics section in 2017 was moderate.  The Questions in JKCET varied from theoretical and concept based to questions requiring Numerical and practical approach. The topics which carried higher percentage of questions in the exam were:

Other important topics which carried most of the marks in the Physics section were: Current Electricity, Electronic Devices, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current.
Physics section is the most scoring section in JKCET for the candidates who were well prepared.
Chemistry:

The section covering most of the marks of JKCET 2017 Chemistry was Organic Chemistry followed by Inorganic Chemistry. Candidates who have attempted more questions from organic chemistry have more probability of getting good marks in this section. Some of the important topics with maximum weightage are:

Section C:

Mathematics:
The section consisted of 60 MCQ questions with the maximum weightage, Calculus was undoubtedly the most important section of the JKCET 2017 Mathematics. Also, 2D & 3D Geometry were one of the major sections in the mathematics section apart from calculus.

Other important sections in the Mathematics section were Complex numbers, Statistics, Sequence and Series and Permutation and Combination.


JKCET Result 2017

Result of J&K BOPEE CET will be declared in the last week of May or in the first week of June and depending upon the result students will be given dates for their counselling to choose their respective branch and college.

  • Result will be declared online followed by the announcement of the merit list. The qualified candidates will be able to take admission at various engineering institutes/colleges in the state of Jammu & Kashmir provided they fulfil the eligibility requirements defined by the Board.
  • Candidates can check their result online on the official website or visit any of the BOPEE offices in Jammu/ Srinagar during the working hours.
  • 50% Reservation is applicable, only in the colleges run by the Government and other 50% admission will be given depending upon the merit.

JKCET Counselling 2017

Counselling plays a very important part because it involves the selection of candidate’s field and college depending upon his interest and it also depends on a candidate’s ranking.

  • Counselling will begin in the last week of June and will continue till first week of July.
  • Candidates will be allotted their respective dates depending upon their ranks.
  • Candidates must attend JKCET Counselling 2017 in person, with all the mandatory documents in original along and photocopies along with the JKCET 2017 admit card.
  • In case candidates cannot attend the counselling session, they can attend the counselling on the following day.
  •  If a candidate fails to produce the required documents, he will be disqualified from the counselling process
  • Counselling fee of INR 500 is to be paid at POS terminal at BOPEE, Srinagar/Jammu.
  • Counselling fees will be refunded to those candidates who have not been allotted any seat through JKCET 2017 Counselling.
