TSICET Syllabus for Mathematical Ability

The students appearing for TSICET or Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test have to prepare themselves thoroughly three subjects: analytical ability, mathematical ability and communication ability. The test is the screening test for admissions in MBA and MCA courses in colleges in the state of Telangana. TSICET 2018 is conducted by Kakatiya University, Warangal on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad. TSICET’s paper has three sections based on the three subjects. All questions are multiple choice questions carrying one mark each. There are total 200 questions. Analytical ability sections carries 75 marks, mathematical ability 75 marks and communication ability 50 marks. Time duration for completing the paper is 2 and ½ hours. TSICET Mathematical Ability Syllabus is of class 12 and UG level comprising sections on Arithmetical Ability, Algebraical and Geometrical Ability, Statistical Ability etc.

TSICET Syllabus 2018 for Mathematical Ability

We give below detailed syllabus of TSICET Mathematical Ability section. Mathematical Ability Syllabus comprises sections on Arithmetical Ability, Algebraical and Geometrical Ability, and Statistical Ability. Trigonometry is also included in Algebraical and Geometrical Ability. The mathematical ability section is considered to be the toughest in the paper as per analysis of previous papers. While Arithmetic Ability questions are considered to be easier, the questions on Algebraical & Geometrical Ability are considered to be tough. While some questions are formula based, a lot of them require conceptual clarity and application.

Preparation Tips for Mathematical Ability

  • To begin with the preparation of Mathematical ability and other sections, the candidates must be very clear with the test pattern, marking scheme and most important of all, the syllabus. This will help the candidates to understand the facets of the exam.
  • TS ICET is an offline mode exam with objective type multiple choice questions. There are 200 questions of which mathematical ability is of 75 marks.
  • As per the marking scheme, 1 mark each will be given for each correct answer. However, there is no negative marking for wrong answer. Hence, candidates can attempt all the questions.
  • Check the syllabus on the official website
  • Follow the syllabus thoroughly. The syllabus keeps on changing. So you have to follow the latest syllabus as per your exam date. 
  • Candidates should be careful in choosing the appropriate study material and reference books.
  • Always play safe. Don’t go for too high or too low level of the sample papers. This will only affect your performance in the exam.
  • Opt for mock test.
  • Do sample papers, but do only those questions which are part of the syllabus.
  • Always keep a track of the time taken to complete a paper. Time management is very important.
  • Keep a record of the number of right or wrong while solving the previous years’ TS ICET question papers. This will help you to access yourself.
  • Identify your weak and strong sections. Work hard on the weaker sections.
  • Mathematical ability requires practicing more and more questions. The more the number of questions you practice, the more is your chances to sail through.
  • Try to practice the calculations rigorously. This will improve the accuracy and also your problem-solving speed.
