Central University of Jharkhand Admission through CUCET 2017

Central University of Jharkhand is offering admission to various courses through CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test). The official notification for admissions is released in the month of March every year and has already begun for the upcoming academic session. Applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria for admission in Central University of Jharkhand. Eligible candidates can register themselves on the Jharkhand University’s website.

CUCET is a combined exam that provides the opportunity to get admission in ten state Universities (Haryana, Jammu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Bihar, Kashmir, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu). CUCET is held for admissions to Undergraduate, Postgraduate and research programs in the said universities in India. This article provides information related to courses offered by CU Jharkhand along with eligibility criteria and reservation of seats.

The Registration for CUCET 2017 started from March 20, 2017 and applications will be accepted till April 15, 2017. CUCET 2017 will be conducted on two dates i.e. May 17-18, 2017. An application fee of INR 700 for general candidates and INR 300 for reserved category candidates (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD) will be charged.

After the declaration of CUCET 2017 Result, a merit list will be declared on the basis of candidates’ performance. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be called for the counselling process to the Central University of Jharkhand. Candidates must be present for counselling process and carry all the required documents.

CUCET 2017 Course Wise Eligibility Criteria

Central University of Jharkhand has provided separate eligibility criteria for the offered courses under CUCET 2017. Fulfilment of eligibility criteria is a must for all the applicants. Candidates applying for admission to Jharkhand University should possess a minimum eligibility criterion of having passed class 12th with minimum 50 percent marks. CUCET 2017 Reservation

Seats are reserved for the reserved category candidates (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD).  Candidates applying under reserved category should attach the attested copies of caste certificate from a competent authority. Those candidates who are suffering less than 40% of disability will not be considered under PWD category. The reservation for Kashmiri and Ex-Servicemen will be considered according to the government of India rules and the availability for supernumerary seats is also there for J&K migrants and Ex- Servicemen.

Based on the government reservation policy the weightage of seats reserved for different categories is as follows:

CUCET 2017 Result and Selection Process

The declaration of CUCET 2017 Result will be on June 17, 2017. Selections of candidates for CU Jharkhand will be done on the basis of final merit list. The merit list is prepared course wise. The candidates can download and view CUCET result on the official website. Selected candidates whose names appear in the final merit list will qualify for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.

Selected Candidates are required to submit the following documents at the time of counselling process:

  • Educational Qualification Certificates (e.g. mark sheet and degree certificate)
  • Reservation Certificates
  • CUCET 2017 Score card
