GCET 2018 Result

GCET 2018 Result (Goa Common Entrance Test 2018) will be declared in third week of May 2018. The results can be accessed on the official website of GCET. Note that GCET result are not accessed in offline mode i.e., candidates will not be getting their score card via post.GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test) is a gateway to courses like B.E., B.Pharm, BHMS, BAMS, Allied Health Sciences, B.Sc. in Nursing and B.Arch. in the GCET Participating Institutes.

After declaration of GCET 2018 result, candidates can check the merit list which will be published online. GCET 2018 Merit List of the eligible candidates has prepared in the descending order of the qualifying GCET 2018 marks.


How to Check GCET 2018 Result

The results for GCET 2018 will be declared in third week of May 2018 on the official website of GCET. Result must not be expected to be out in offline mode i.e. via post. Candidates will get it through online mode only. The step-by-step procedure to view individual as well as the result of all candidates listed in ascending order of registration number is mentioned here. However, candidates must be clear with some facts related to GCET 2018 Results.

  • Results of GCET 2018 will be announced on the GCET website.
  • Candidates can view individual results along with that of all the candidates in pdf file available for downloading in ascending order of registration number.
  • Individual Score cards will not be issued to candidates.
  • Officials will release the merit list for admission on the basis of marks scored in the entrance examination.

To view Individual GCET Result 2018

  • Visit the official website of GCET.
  • Click on ‘GCET 2018 Result​
  • Click on the “GCET Number” tab.
  • Enter your GCET Number and click on submit.
  • Result for GCET 2018 will be displayed.

To view GCET Result 2018 of all candidates

Alternately, there is also an option to view scores of all the candidates through their registration numbers.

  • Visit the official website of GCET.
  • Click on ‘GCET Result 2018’.
  • Select “All” option
  • List with the registration number and subject-wise scores will be displayed in ascending order.
  • Candidates can search their registration number in the list and check their scores.

Details Present in GCET 2018 Result

GCET 2018 Score Card will reflect candidate’s performance in GCET 2018 exam. The scorecard will include the following details. Candidate needs to check all the details on the result carefully.

  • Candidate’s Name
  • Roll Number
  • Individual Subject Scores
  • Total Marks
  • Rank
  • Category

GCET 2018 Merit List

Based on the performance of candidates in GCET 2018, a merit list would be drawn for counselling. Candidates ranked higher in the merit list will be given preference in seat allotment.

  • The merit list of GCET 2018 for eligible candidates will be published by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa
  • There will be separate merit list for General Category and Reserved Category candidates.
  • Provisional GCET 2018 Merit list will be announced first wherein candidates are supposed to verify their place in the list.
  • Candidates must verify their marks and details mentioned in the provisional merit list of GCET 2018.
  • In case of any discrepancy, it must be brought to the notice of the committee within 24 hours failing which objection will not be considered.
  • The final GCET Merit List 2018 will be displayed three days after the provisional one is announced and the objections of candidates if any are submitted and verified.  
  • Counselling and seat allotment for GCET 2018 will be based on the GCET Merit list announced by the admission committee.
  • Candidates with higher rank in the merit list are given preference during counselling

Guidelines for GCET merit list 2018

GCET 2018 merit list will be prepared after the announcement of results. Note that merit list will be prepared separately for general category and reserved category candidates. Candidates need to be aware of the process basis which merit list is prepared. Below mentioned are the criteria followed during preparation of GCET Merit list:

  • Merit list is prepared on the aggregate of marks obtained in mathematics and physics.
  • If two or more candidates score the same aggregate, the candidate with more marks in mathematics will be placed higher.
  • If there is a tie in mathematics score, candidate with more marks in chemistry will be ranked higher
  • If tie doesn’t resolve, the aggregate marks of physics and chemistry in Class XII will be considered. Candidate with higher aggregate marks will be placed higher. If the aggregate of the candidates are equal, the candidate with higher score in chemistry will be ranked higher.
  • In the last case, it will finally be decided based on age of the candidate. The candidate who is older in age will be placed higher.

GCET 2018 Cut Off

Cut off is minimum marks a candidate has to score to be eligible for GCET Counselling and admission process for various courses available. The cut off is different or varies for every university or college.

  • Cut off marks for the Goa CET Exam is based on the following factors:
  1. Highest marks scored in exam.
  2. Number of qualified candidates.
  3. Number of candidates attending exam
  4. Number of seats available for the Course.
  5. Difficulty level of the exam.
  • Category wise qualifying marks for GCET 2018  are expected to be:
GENERAL50%
RESERVED (OBC,SC,ST)40%

GCET Counselling 2018

Counselling is the last step of GCET admission process. Eligible and qualified candidates will be invited for counselling.

  • Counselling is most likely to be conducted in the month of June/July.
  • Qualified candidates have to fill application form (B) for admission.
  • Merit list is prepared for each course separately on the basis of marks obtained in written examination.
  • Subsequently, successful candidates are invited to attend counselling.
  • Candidates have to appear in person at the specified centre.
  • All the candidates have to carry admit card, original educational documents at the time of counselling.
  • Final selection of any candidate for admission in any particular course will depend on his/her written exam score, seats availability and verification of original documents.
  • If any candidate fails to appear for the admission rounds, their seats are offered to other candidates in the merit list.
