STATE LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
GCET Eligibility Criteria comprise the academic and other qualification for Goa CET. Directorate of Technical Education, DTE Goa conducts GCET and has decided the eligibility criteria for the GCET exam. Candidates desiring of taking admission to B.Tech/BE courses across the participating institutes of GCET 2017, will have to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
Candidates should check GCET eligibility before filling up the application form. The basic eligibility for GCET is that a candidate must be an Indian National and must have completed the age of 17 years on or before December 31, 2017. GCET eligibility criteria vary for the admission to the following courses: B.E., B.Pharm, BHMS, BAMS, Allied Health Sciences, and B.Sc. in Nursing.
Goa CET is open to all Indian nationals. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) card holders, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders and Non-Resident Indians (NRI) holding Indian passports are also eligible to apply for GCET admission under the NRI category. Foreign nationals must apply to Government of India.
Candidates who have applied under General Category must have passed/studied class 12 or equivalent in Goa. These candidates must be residents of Goa continuously for a period of 10 years. 5 years for those whose parents or grandparents are born in Goa. Wards of Government of Goa deputations or employees must have passed the qualifying examination from CBSE, New Delhi or recognised state boards.
Candidates who have spent any period outside Goa on account of posting/ leave/ training/deputation of parents being the Goa State Government Employee or under the scheme of Exchange Programme as the student of Navodaya Vidyalaya from Goa will be counted towards the continuous residence of 10 years.
Candidates from other states who have passed the qualifying education from outside Goa but within the Indian Union are also eligible to apply for GCET 2017.
Candidate applying for degree courses in Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing must have competed the age of 17 years on or before December 31, 2017. There is no age limit, minimum or maximum, specified for admission to Engineering and Pharmacy courses.
Candidates must have passed class 12 examination or equivalent from Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or with English and secured not less than 50% marks (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only) in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together.
Candidates should have passed class 12 in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, and obtained minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Candidates should have passed class 12 examination from Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only) of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology.
Candidates should have passed class 12 examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only) of subjects of Physics & Chemistry with one of the following subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology.
