NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
JEE Advanced 2017 is all set to be conducted on May 21, 2017. This examination is the key to finding a seat in the top engineering institutes of the country. Candidates interested in applying for JEE Advanced 2017 should accordingly fill the application form for JEE Mains 2017. The online registration process for JEE Advanced 2017 will begin from April 28, 2017. The admit card for JEE Advanced 2017 will be released on May 10, 2017.
Indian Institute of Technology is now speculated to provide 10% additional seats in IIT to foreign students. IIT will also hold their entrance exams at 6 international centres as opposed to 1.
A total of about 11,000 seats are to be filled in various IITs. All the 23 IITs are going to absorb this increased number. The top 5 IITs, namely Kharagpur, Kanpur, Bombay, Delhi and Madras as well as IIT Varanasi or BHU attract the maximum number of applications. They also continue to have the maximum seats.
As of now, IIT-Kharagpur has the highest student capacity (1,360), followed by IIT-BHU (1,090) and IIT-Roorkee (1,065). Among the newer IITs, the most seats are set to be increased by the newer IITs, like the ones at Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Jammu and Jodhpur.
In the 2017 academic session, the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) will increase 5 % in their total student intake. Over and above the renowned tech and engineering schools of the Country have also decided to increase the intake of foreign students by up to 10%. The candidate should be in Top 20 Percentile or 75 per cent marks in the Class XII board exam, whichever is lower. In other words, a candidate who has qualified JEE Advanced, should either outline in the top 20% performers of the Class XII Board examination or marks at least 75% to be eligible for admission to IITs. In case of reserved categories like SC and ST candidates, the cut-off will be 70% in board examination.
JEE Advanced 2017 Cut off will be decided on the basis of different factors like a total number of available seats and qualified candidates, etc. Other eligibility criteria like age limit, the number of attempts, appearance in class 12, etc. also matters for JEE Advanced 2017.
