JEE Advanced 2017 Answer keys and ORS released, Challenges invited

JEE Advanced Answer Key 2017 has been released by IIT Madras at the official website i.e. jeeadv.nic.in. JEE Advanced 2017 was conducted by IIT Madras on May 21, for engineering seats across prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology. Conducted for top 220000 shortlisted students of JEE Main, JEE Advanced 2017 was held in two paper of three-hour each.

  • The keys are released separately for each set of the 10 sets of Paper 1 and Paper 2. 
  • Answer keys can easily be downloaded without providing candidates’ names or any other information.
  • IIT Madras also invites challenges from appeared students against the Answer Key released with INR 1000 fee for each challenge
  • The Challenges to be made at the website should be done before the last date i.e. June 6, 2017.
  •  Result of the exam is expected to be released on June 11, 2017 inviting the successful candidates for counselling process and documents verification.

How to Download the JEE Advanced 2017 Answer Key (Code 0- 9)

The correct responses to the questions present in the examination are available in the JEE Advanced Answer Key 2017 (Code 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).

  • Candidates can check the answer keys on the official website or can follow the link that is provided below.
  • The Answer Key option will be displayed.

Candidates can then download the answer keys and check the scores by calculating their marks.

 Using the released official answer key, candidates will be able to calculate the scores that they have probably scored in the examination.

  • Both the papers consisted of 3 sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 3 hours were allotted to both the Paper with  Paper I carrying 264 marks and Paper II- 240 with negative marking in Section A and B i.e. -1 in physics, -2 in Chemistry and no negative marking in the Mathematics section.
  • Paper pattern varies every year for JEE Advance.
  • This year, Paper I carried 90 questions while Paper II carried 60 questions.
  • Section A, B and C consisted of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Questions respectively in both the Papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Challenging the Answer key:

Candidates can challenge the JEE Advanced answer key if they will find any discrepancy in the answer key.

  • Candidates have to access the link (which will be provided on this page in the due course of time) on the official website of JEE Advanced i.e. www.jeeadv.ac.in and log in with their password.
  • Candidates have to follow the instructions and give their feedback on the official answer key of JEE advanced.
  • The dates for challenging the answer keys are from June 4, 2017 to June 6, 2017 and after the    two days’ time period candidates will miss their chance of challenging.
  • Challenging fees will be 1000 INR which will be non- refundable.

Category-Wise JEE Advanced Cut- off 2016:

Cut- off is the minimum marks required by the students to get admission. Candidates have to score equal to or above the declared cutoff percentage for getting included JEE Advanced rank list 2017. Last year minimum cut-off for the General category was 20%, 18% for OBC and for all the other Categories it went down to 10%.

JEE Advanced 2016 Cutoff (Rank- wise)

JEE releases the result  rank wise and last year the most preferable institute among the students was IIT Mumbai with closing rank 4880 and the least favored was IIT Varanasi with closing rank 9805.

These are 2016 cut offs and 2017 cut offs can vary depending upon the difficulty level of the JEE Advance but students will get an idea by looking at the afore–mentioned tables.


JEE Advance Results

  • This year, JEE Advanced Result 2017 will be declared on June 11, 2017.
  • All India Rank (AIR) and Category Rank of successful candidates will be available on the online portal after the results are declared.
  • Candidates must note that individual rank cards will NOT be sent to candidates.
  • Obtaining a rank in JEE Advanced 2017 does not guarantee admission to IIT or ISM
  • Only candidates who appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be considered for ranking. Marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE Advanced will be equal to the marks scored in Physics part of Paper 1 plus the marks scored in Physics part of Paper 2.
  • Marks obtained in Chemistry and Mathematics will be calculated in the same way.
  • The aggregate mark obtained by a candidate in JEE (Advanced) 2017 is the sum of the marks awarded to him/her in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • After declaration of the results, Counselling process will take place.
