JEE Advanced 2016 Rank List

Candidates appearing both the Papers will only be considered for ranking. Marks scored in either subject will be calculated on the basis of total marks scored in Paper 1 and Paper 2. You will get an idea in the following way, how it is calculated-

Physics Marks = Marks scored in Physics (Paper 1 + Paper 2)

Chemistry Marks = Marks scored in Chemistry (Paper 1 + Paper 2)

Mathematics Marks = Marks scored in Mathematics (Paper 1 + Paper 2)

The aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in JEE Advanced 2016 is equal to the total marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in both the Papers. If any two or more candidates score the same marks, then tie-breaker will be used for ranking. The rank will be maintained on the higher marks scored in Mathematics section, if still the same rank persists then, higher marks scored in Physics section will be preferred. If still the rank doesn’t change, then the same rank will be awarded to the candidates.

Rank List of the JEE Advanced 2016 aspirants will be prepared separately on the basis of categories defined as per the courses. If any candidate qualifies in more than one category then he will be considered in all the categories to which he belongs for the ranking purpose. There is not going to be any waiting list for ranking. The candidates who qualify the minimum prescribed marks will only be considered for the rank list. The following table shows the minimum prescribed marks for each category-

Common Rank List (CRL) is the rank in which all the candidates across all the categories will be given rank.
