The candidates were not allowed to wear any kind of watch at the JEE Advanced 2016 Test Centre due to this the invigilator was to announce the time every half an hour during the exam. It was not easy to ensure a functioning wall clock in all test centres. But the parents of JEE Advanced aspirants were not happy with this rule and claimed that watches are required to manage time during the examination.

Therefore, the competent authority revised this rule and allowed students to wear Analog watches at the examination centre. However, candidates are not allowed to wear Smart/Programmable watches at the test centre. The JEE Advanced 2016 Exam will be held on May 22, 2016.
