NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
The IIFT entrance exam is like the other MBA entrance exams like CAT, MAT and XAT etc. For the sections like Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension syllabus and topics, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Quantitative Ability is similar.
While giving the IIFT exam must the candidates must spend maximum time to that sections which offer more marks for every correct answer and those sections are Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, and Logical Reasoning. Every section has Easy, Medium and Tough Questions. Try to maximize your score as much as possible in the written test.
Increase your GK: The segregating factor is General Awareness. This is one of the main differences between IIFT and other MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT and MAT etc. The General Knowledge is the deal-breaker here. You should not wait until the last moment to start preparing for this section. The best way to increase the GK is to read news and features from various sources. If you had been preparing for IIFT from the last few months & had been going through the newspapers such as The Hindu, The Economic Times, The Indian Express, simple reason, they cover social and political reports more than other popular newspapers. Read at least 2 newspapers daily Subscribe to magazines like the Frontline, Outlook, India Today etc. Refer to year book from the reputed publishers.
Mock Test Practice: According to the expert take at least 4 to 5 mock tests and analyze the test structure and the type of questions. The exam additionally assesses Decision Making and General Awareness types of questions hence get oriented to these question types."
Expand your Vocabulary: In the IIFT Entrance exam English Comprehension section usually has a lot of questions that test your vocabulary, so you need to work to expand your vocabulary. You should read 5 new words at least per day and make the sentences on that word everyday to memorize them. You should also know how these new words are supposed to be used in a sentence. Nothing works like reading to improve your vocabulary as well as sentence-formation skills.
Time management: Time management is the most important part in every exam to get a high score in the examination. Entrance test to IIFT requires consistent and planned study pattern. All the four sections in the examination are equally important as you need to score a high percentile. The examination in itself is a little tricky and questions in Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension are sometimes indirect and quite confusing also. You need to improve your attempts in limited time period.
Work on your Speed: The number of questions in the IIFT exam between 120 to 135 questions. The total time is 120 minutes so you don't have one minute for each question. To attempt all questions in the examination you need to work to increase on your speed. Speed is important factor in the exam, so that you can easily manoeuvre through the question paper and attempt the maximum questions with in a given time period.
