NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
JEE Main Cutoff is released by each institute post announcement of result. The cutoff is prepared considering multiple factors into account such as number of seats available, difficulty level of the paper, number of test takers etc. Candidates scoring equal to or more than the described cutoff are deemed eligible to get shortlisted for the institute.
JEE Main was successfully conducted in online and offline mode in the first week of April 2017. JoSAA will conduct the counselling post announcement of Result at jeemain.nic.in scheduled for April 27. Candidates appearing for counselling must be aware of JEE Main 2017 Cutoff for each institute participating in the counselling.
Based on the JEE Main cut off score 2017, the examination authority will select top 220000 candidates for appearing in JEE Advanced 2017 scheduled to be held on May 21 for admission to around 11,000 B.Tech seats in 23 IITs. Moreover, JEE Main 2017 cut off score will be the basis for selection of candidates for admission to nearly 24000 seats distributed among 23 IITs,31 NITs, 20 IIITs and18 GFTIs. JEE Main was held on April 02 in paper based mode and on April 8 and 9 in online mode. The official answer key of JEE Main 2017 has been released by CBSE on April 18. Candidates can download JEE Main official answer key and OMR sheet to calculate their score based on correct and incorrect responses marked during the exam.
Only the top qualifying applicants of JEE Main 2017 will be allotted seats in NITs as per their ranking in the cut off. Around 31 NITs will be accepting applicants through JEE Main scores. To participate in the admission process, the applicants will have to meet the JEE Main 2017 Cut off for Top NITs.

The cut off score of JEE Main 2017 will depend on determinants such as,
Weightage of class 12 marks in JEE Main cut off score – From this year onwards, CBSE will not give any importance to class 12 marks while deriving JEE Main 2017 cut off score. No weightage will be given to 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in JEE Main 2017. However, for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs are based on the JEE Advanced/JEE Main ranks. Also, the candidates should have secured at least 75% marks in the class 12 examination, or be in the top 20 percentiles in the class 12 conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks would be 65% in the class 12 examination.

JEE Main 2017 is conducted for selecting top 22000 candidates for JEE advanced for admission to around 11000 seats in 23 IITs. The score of JEE Main 2017 is also the basis for admission for nearly 24000 BE/B. Tech and B Arch/B. Planning seats in NITs, IITs and GFITs. JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) 2017 will regulate the common counselling for admissions to 92 Participating Institutes of JEE Main 2017. The main purpose of JOSAA is to provide a single online platform for the candidates to apply in the Participating Institutes of JEE Main 2017 across the country. Admissions to 31 NITs, 22 IITs, ISM Dhanbad, 20 IIITs and 18 Other Government funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) will be done through the JOSAA 2017.
The Counselling of JEE Main 2017 will be held in 6 rounds. The Candidates who appears in JEE Main 2017 will be eligible to register for seat Allocation in the Participating Institutes of JEE Main 2017 and appear for the JEE Main 2017 Counselling. The candidates will have to register, fill up their choices and lock their choices before appearing in the JEE Main 2017 Counselling.
