JEE MAIN 2017 NEWS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
Sekhar Alle appeared for JEE Main in 2012 and there he scored 180 marks. He was offered admission by All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Engineering, Pune. He preferred a common book all the subjects. He shares some preparation tips of JEE Main when we interviewed him. Given below is the questionnaire that we had with him.
Ans. I chose offline mode of examination. Offline mode has no cons and as well as no pros because the both modes of examination are same. In online mode you have to tick the correct answer on the screen and in Offline mode you have to choose the choice in the paper given to you. There no chance to copy in both modes so it doesn't matter which you choose.

Ans. NO. I didn’t join any coaching class but in our college we were provided the classes.
Ans. I joined a college which had integrated studies of both classes 11th & 12th and with it they provided coaching for IIT-JEE. So every week we had exams for both our classes and IIT-JEE preparations. So we had an idea where we stand and also we improved based on that and also it helped a lot.
Ans. Mathematics was good for me as I was good in Mathematics but it was not the case with Physics as it was the toughest subject for me. Chemistry was good though. I just practiced and paid off.
Ans. I took many mock tests online. There are many online websites offering free mock tests with solutions too. I improved a lot with the help of those solutions. Also there are many websites providing coaching for free including YouTube from where we can find videos that are absolutely free.
Ans. I used a book in which all the subjects were in one book. It was great and there were many publications offering the same type of book such as Jigar, Techmax, Nirali. Each and every book is good in some of the aspects but I found Techmax book is good than the others. But keep in mind that don't try too hard for difficult topics in Physics and focus on other subjects instead.

Ans. I used the same publishers’ book for all the three subjects. I also referred textbooks and they were very helpful. If you don't want to stress on many topics than textbooks can help with some topics. Also there are some books which offer only Chemistry but I think an integrated book is a good choice not about the price but as almost all the content is similar with the normal single subject textbook.
Ans. I used a separate book for Mathematics named Jigar publication. It helped me a lot as it has the shortcuts that are needed in solving time consuming numericals. It was a pretty decent book. It is a very good book as it has all the content needed and also many alternative methods or techniques so that you can use which one you are comfortable and feel easy.
Ans. If ever I get any chance to go back and change, I would have definitely changed the college as I think I didn't choose a great college which I think now. Neither the college is good nor the teachers. They are not at all supportive.

Ans. It's not much of a time but you can make it the most time by simply focusing in what you can focus on more. Like you should avoid Physics not completely but only doing those topics which are easy. And focus on Maths and Chemistry which are helpful in scoring good marks. Also it is not necessary of joining coaching classes. Get a good book and try online mock tests and you can easily crack the entrance exam.
