What did you choose - Offline or Online mode for taking up the exam?

OFFLINE, because it’s always better on a physical medium than on a computer. Rough works are faster this way. Only con is the OMR filling part.

Did you take Coaching Classes? If yes, how did they help in your story ?

Yes, I took admission in ABC classes Gorakhpur. I had no idea how to be able to prepare for JEE Main 2017, without any guidance. I believe that a coaching is best necessary for how to handle pressure during tests. Daily you are been given homework in the form of sheets, dpp (daily practise problems) which is discussed in detail in the next class. The competiton at the coaching classes is tremendously high. The level of discussion will be very high and i was very lucky to get awesome best friends which are still in my touch. Preparation for exams like olympiads is also provided.

How did you manage to prepare for JEE Main along with your Class 12th exam?

I gave ISC board exams and most of the syllabus is a subset of the JEE Main Syllabus. So it was just like JEE but at a lower level. Apt time is present to individually prepare for both the exams. Significant gap is provided.

What were your Strong and Weak areas? How did you prepare and what special efforts did you put for improving them?

Strong Areas: Organic Chemistry, Physical chemistry, Probability.

Weak: Mathematics basic functions, Mechanics, EM.

Maths was more of a practice based improvement.

What mock papers did you take?

ABC class test and mock papers, Past years solved papers and Narayana institute booklets. The last two significantly helped me out.

Write some of the Preparation tips for someone who is starting 4 months before the exam?

CHEMISTRY: Use MS CHAUHAN for ORGANIC. Prepare all the chapters of Inorganic Chemistry from NCERT Textbook. Physical is easy if you are good at calculation.

MATHEMATICS: Trigonometry, DIFFERENTIAL CALCULUS, COORDINATE GEOMETRY are more scoring. Functions requires more practice.

PHYSICS: Modern Physics is most scoring. EMI and current portions are easy. Mechanics requires very elaborate knowledge, I personally didn't get any question correct in it.

Mention the Strategy and Books Followed for Physics

Resnick Halliday. Anurag Sharma for EM.HC Verma is not the end, in fact I did not use that book at all. The NCERT physics needs to be redesigned too. Past years papers and Narayana study material were the best for me. You can't miss any coaching class of Physics, it can be the most tricky subject as it happened in JEE ADVANCED 2014. Irodov is very high level.

Mention the Strategy and Books Followed for Chemistry

MS CHAUHAN for Organic chemistry question solving- this is the best bet and it has 2 levels Basic and Advanced. In my case my coaching notes and teachers were really damn good at teaching Chem so I didn't need much other books. NCERT Chemistry was really helpful. Morrison Boyd was very high level. RC Mukherjee for physical.

Mathematics: Mention the Strategy and Books Followed for this section.

ML Khanna for theory is a great book. ML Aggarwal was my ISC book which was very basic but good. Past years papers and Narayana study material worked well for me. ABC classes gave a lot of question banks for Maths ,could not solve much but they were a nice level.

What are the things you would like to go back in time and change to get into a better college?

I could have opted for another Board of exams as ISC 95% didn't help me at all. If I had taken Up board for XII, I would have been in top most NIT with a great branch.
