WBJEE 2018 Application Form

WBJEE 2018 Application Form will be available from the 1st week of January 2018. Candidates interested in appearing for the joint entrance examination 2018 that will be held in the month of April 2018 must apply for the same. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) is responsible for conducting WBJEE 2018 every year for admission to undergraduate engineering and technology programs across the state of West Bengal.

The registration and application process will be conducted only via the online mode. Aspirants must go through the information brochure uploaded on the official website www.wbjeeb.nic.in to know the eligibility criteria for each course.

Aspirants will be required to register for the exam by filling up general details. They must ensure that they have a valid mobile number and email ID before registering for the test. Once registered, applicants can fill up the WBJEE 2018 application form by providing personal details, information about academic qualification and uploading the necessary documents.

Aspirants must pay the requisite fees of INR 500 for the successful submission of the form. The application fee payment can be made till the 1st week of February, 2018. WBJEE 2018 Admit Card will be available at the official website in the 1st week of April, 2018. 


WBJEE 2018 Exam Dates

The application process will begin from the month of January 2018. Aspirants must browse the official WBJEE website for updates about the ongoing processes and exam. The important dates regarding the WBJEE 2018 Application process are stated below:

WBJEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criterion for WBJEE 2018 is as laid down by the WBJEEB. Applicants must ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements before applying for the exam. The various criteria for appearing in the exam are stated below:

  • The applicant must be an Indian national.
  • Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 years as on December 31, 2018. There is no upper age limit. However, for the degree level Marine Engineering Course the upper age limit is 25 years as on December 31, 2018.
  • For appearing in WBJEE 2018 both Paper I and Paper II the eligibility criteria are:
a)Candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science or Computer Application as compulsory subjects with passing marks in theory and practical in all 3 subjects
b)They must have an aggregate of 45% in all 3 subjects taken together (40% for reserved category)
c)Aggregate of atleast 30% in English at 10+2 level
d)The board of 10+2 examination should be recognized by Central or State Government.
  • The same criteria will be applicable if aspirant wants to appear for only Paper II of  WBJEE.
  • The participating institutes also have institute specific eligibility criteria for some courses which are given in the information brochure of WBJEE.

How to Fill WBJEE 2018 Application Form?

The WBJEE 2018 Application Form will be available on the official website www.wbjeeb.nic.in. Application forms can be submitted online only. Only those candidates who apply for the test by paying the application fees can appear for the test. The applicants can fill up the application form by following these steps:

Step 1: Logging In

Log on to the official website. Click on ‘Apply for WBJEE 2018’ at the bottom of the page. ‘New Candidate Registration’ and ‘Login’ page will appear. Select the option of ‘Apply’ for new registration. Read the instructions that appear on the next page carefully.

Step 2: Registration and Application

  • Applicants must register for the exam by providing general details like name, parents’ name, date of birth, etc. The registration details once submitted cannot be edited.
  • The application form will appear on the screen. Candidates will have to fill up personal details (name, gender, date of birth, religion, income, choice of examination centre, etc.), qualification details and communication details (address, email ID and mobile number). They will be given an application ID on submission of this form.
  • This application number can be used for logging in to their respective accounts. Aspirants must then choose a password and a security question-answer for this application ID.

Step 3: Uploading Images and Documents

  • Applicants must upload scanned images of their passport sized photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression.
  • Candidates will be notified via SMS if there is any discrepancy regarding the documents that they have uploaded.
  • The photograph should be taken on or after December 1, 2017. Other specifications regarding the photograph will be given in the brochure.
  • The format and size of the scanned copies should be as follows:

  • Applicants must also upload scanned images of the necessary documents issued by competent authority. The documents along with their size range are as mentioned below:
Admit card/ registration certificate/ mark sheet of 10th standard, where date of birth is mentioned or Birth Certificate50 to 300 KB

Caste Certificate (if applicable)50 to 300 KB

Step 4: Payment of fees

Each applicant must pay the non-refundable application fees of INR 500 irrespective of their category to appear for WBJEE 2018. The fees can be paid in 2 modes:

  • Online mode: If students wish to pay the fees using Debit/ Credit card or Net Banking they must select the option of online mode to pay the fees. Save the receipt and print it out.
  • In Cash: If students wish to pay the fees via cash they must select the appropriate option for paying in cash. An e-challan of Allahabad Bank will be generated automatically for download. Applicants must fill up this challan and pay the fees to any branch of the Allahabad bank with Core Banking Services (CBS).

Step 5: Confirmation Page

A confirmation page will be generated after rendering the requisite fees. Download this page and save it for future reference.

The applicants must fill up the necessary fields according to the information given in the remarks section. The major fields to be filled are as follows:

  • Candidates’ Personal details such as name, father’s name, D.O.B, domicile and category
  • Disability and type of disability (if any)
  • Nationality
  • Aadhar Number
  • JEE Main Application Form Detail
  • Course applying for (Engineering/ Architecture/ Pharmacy)
  • Choice of exam city 1, 2, 3
  • Educational Qualification
  • Address
  • Password

How to Retrieve Password?

If a candidate forgets his login password, he must click on ‘Forgot Password’ on the login credential page. He will then be required to answer his security question. If he has also forgotten the answer to his security question, an email will be sent to the candidate’s registered email ID that will contain a new password. The candidate can login using this password and change it if he wishes to do so.


Application Form Correction

The application form can be edited before final submission of the form. Aspirants will have a choice between ‘Edit Application Form Data’ or ‘Final Submit’ before the confirmation page is generated. They can choose to edit the information if they wish to.

A Correction Window will be open in the 1st week of February 2018. Students who have failed to edit any information or documents except the registration data can do so within the stipulated time. The registration data cannot be edited once submitted. After this time period the applications cannot be edited. Also no new applications will be accepted during this time. The edited application form should then be confirmed and printed out.


FAQs

Q. I am a student belonging to the reserved category. However, I selected the general category by mistake while applying for WBJEE 2018. I wish to make changes to my category. Please help.

A. YES, you can change your category from open to SC/ ST/ OBC when the Correction Window is open. You will also be required to upload a caste certificate to support your claim.

Q. I am a student from Odisha. I wish to appear for the WBJEE 2018. Do I have to be a resident of West Bengal to appear for the exam?

A. NO, there is no particular residential requirement to appear for WBJEE 2018. However, non-residential candidates cannot stake a claim on the quota reserved for residential candidates.

Q. Final result/ Marksheet of qualifying examination is not available due to delay in publication of result. Is such a candidate eligible for WBJEE 2018?

A. NO, Candidate has to show the marksheet at reporting centre. He has to mention his marks details while registering.

Q. What all fields can be edited when the Correction Window is open?

A. The following changes can be made in the application form when the Correction Window is open:

  • Change in category by uploading necessary documents.
  • Change in Disability information by uploading necessary documents.
  • Change in domicile information supported by documents.
  • Change in income category by uploading requisite documents.

Q. How will I know if the scanned copies of my photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression have been uploaded accurately?

A. You will be notified via SMS on your registered mobile number if there is a discrepancy in the scanned images you have uploaded.

Q. What are the criteria to be treated as domicile of West Bengal?

A. Only those candidates will be treated as domicile of West Bengal who are either, residing in West Bengal for the last 10 (ten) years as on December 31, 2017 or whose parent is a permanent resident of West Bengal having permanent address within the State of West Bengal.
