WBJEE 2018 APPLICATION FORM

WBJEE 2018 Application Form will be available from the 1st week of January 2018. An official notification for WBJEE Registration 2018 is expected to be out in December 2017. Candidates interested in appearing for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination 2018, that will be held in the month of April 2018, must apply for the same. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will be conducting WBJEE 2018 for admission to undergraduate engineering, pharmacy and architecture programs across the state of West Bengal. About 36,000 seats are expected to get filled this year through WBJEE 2018.

The application form for WBJEE 2018 will be avaiable in online mode only. Before applying, make sure you are a domicile of West Bengal and have scored at least 50% in class XII exam. WBJEE 2018 Application Form will require your personal details, academic qualifications and uploading the necessary documents. An application fee of INR 500 must also be paid to complete the registration process. All candidates who successfully register can download WBJEE 2018 Admit Card from 1st week of April, 2018.

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2018

Applicants must ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements before applying for the exam. WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2018 is as laid down by the WBJEEB. The various criteria for appearing in the exam are stated below:

  1. Nationality- The applicant must be an Indian national.
  2. Domicile Criteria- The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
  3. Age limit- The lower age limit is 17 years as on December 31, 2018. There is no upper age limit. However, for the degree level Marine Engineering Course the upper age limit is 25 years as on December 31, 2018.
  4. Educational qualification- 
  • Candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science or Computer Application as compulsory subjects with passing marks in theory and practical in all 3 subjects
  • They must have an aggregate of 45% in all 3 subjects taken together (40% for reserved category)
  • Aggregate of atleast 30% in English at 10+2 level
  • The board of 10+2 examination should be recognized by Central or State Government
  1. The participating institutes also have institute specific eligibility criteria for some courses which are given in the information brochure of WBJEE.

How to Fill WBJEE 2018 Application Form?

The Application Form of WBJEE 2018 will be available on the official website www.wbjeeb.nic.in. They can be accessed can be submitted online only. Only those candidates who apply for the test by paying the application fees can appear for the test. Follow the below steps to fill WBJEE 2018 Application Form:

Step 1: Log-In

Log on to the official website of WBJEE i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in. Click on ‘Apply for WBJEE 2018 at the bottom of the page. ‘New Candidate Registration’ and ‘Login’ page will appear. Select the option of ‘Apply’ for new registration. Read the instructions that appear on the next page carefully.

Step 2: Fill WBJEE 2018 Application Form

  • Applicants must register for the exam by providing some basic details such as name, parents’ name, date of birth, etc. The registration details once submitted cannot be edited.
  • The application form will appear on the screen. Candidates will have to fill up personal details (name, gender, date of birth, religion, income, choice of examination centre, etc.), qualification details and communication details (address, email ID and mobile number). They will be given an application ID on submission of this form.
  • This application number can be used for logging in to their respective accounts. Aspirants must then choose a password and a security question-answer for this application ID.

Step 3: Upload Images and Documents

  • Applicants must upload scanned images of their passport sized photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression.
  • Candidates will be notified via SMS if there is any discrepancy regarding the documents that they have uploaded.
  • The photograph should be taken on or after December 1, 2017. Other specifications regarding the photograph will be given in the brochure.
  • The format and size of the scanned copies should be as follows:

  • Applicants must also upload scanned images of the necessary documents issued by competent authority. The documents along with their size range are as mentioned below:
Admit card/ registration certificate/ mark sheet of 10th standard, where date of birth is mentioned or Birth Certificate50 to 300 KB

Step 4: Payment of fees

Each applicant must pay the non-refundable application fees of INR 500, irrespective of their category, to appear in WBJEE 2018. The fees can be paid via 2 modes:

  • Online mode: If students wish to pay the fees using Debit/ Credit card or Net Banking, they must select this option of online mode to pay the fees. Save the receipt and print it out.
  • Offline mode: If students wish to pay the fees via cash, they must select the offline option for paying in cash. An e-challan of Allahabad Bank will be generated automatically for download. Applicants must fill up this challan and pay the fees to any branch of the Allahabad bank with Core Banking Services (CBS).

Step 5: Confirmation Page

A confirmation page will be generated after rendering the requisite fees. Download this page and save it for future reference.

The applicants must fill up the necessary fields according to the information given in the remarks section. The major fields to be filled are as follows:

WBJEE 2018 Application Form Correction

WBJEEB gives an option to edit your already filled forms. Candidate can access this option once the registration window has completed. They must enter their credentials on the official website (wbjeeb.nic.in) to use this option. WBJEE 2018 Application Form Correction window is likely to open in the first week of February 2018. 

Students who have failed to edit any information or documents except the registration data can do so within the stipulated time. The registration data cannot be edited once submitted. After this time period, the applications cannot be edited. Also, no new applications will be accepted during this time. The edited application form should then be confirmed and printed out.

Fields that can be changed

  1. Change in the exam type is allowed. However, modification to "C" type would need additional payment of a hundred rupees for which the student has to approach the Board
  2. Changes in category i.e. OP (general) to SC/ST/OBC require uploading of documents.
  3. Any change from PWD= NO to YES requires the uploading of documents (as proper proof is needed)
  4. Any change of domicile from 'Other State' to 'West Bengal' requires the uploading of documents.
  5. Any change of income category to < 2.5 Lakh requires the uploading of documents.
  6. Partial change is possible, that means if the student also requested for a change of the Father's name along with a change in category, the change of the father's name will take place, but the changes remain unfinished until the relevant documents are uploaded within the deadline.
  7. The reverse change in any of the above condition (SC->OP, PWD 'YES' -> PwD 'NO' etc.) would be automatically effected and the originally uploaded document would stand null and void.
  8. If a student requested to change his/her Domicile status, then he/she has to change their choice of the test zone. Otherwise, no student is allowed to change his/her choice of exam zone.
  9. If students have uploaded wrong photograph, signature or thumb impression. They have been informed through SMS. They can use the relevant interface to upload correct images. No other student is allowed to upload an image at this stage.

Fields that can not be changed

The following fields cannot be edited in the WBJEE 2018 Application Form:

  • Candidate’s Name
  • Mother’s Name
  • Father’s Name
  • Date of Birth

How to edit WBJEE 2018 Application Form?

  1. Go to the official website of WBJEE 2018 i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in
  2. Click on "View Entire Application Data"
  3. Enter WBJEE 2018 Application Number and Password and login
  4. If Students are not able to log in, click on "I cannot access my account"
  5. You will receive WBJEE 2018 Application Number Or Password
  6. Enter Correct Application Number and Password

Instructions for WBJEE 2017 Application Form 

It is essential to follow some basic instructions before you fill WBJEE 2018 Application Form. The form must be filled accrurately and correctly. Hence, refer to these guidelines below:

  • Make sure the information you provide is true and correct. Forms will incorrect information will be rejected. 
  • If candidates are new applicant, then they will be asked to sign-up as a ‘New Applicant’. In the sign-up process candidates should make a password and keep a security question. They should not divulge these details to anyone and use it for all future logins.
  • While uploading documents and images, adhere to the specified format and size. Poorly scanned images will be rejected.
  • Make sure your signature is not in CAPITAL letters. Upload your full signature in running handwriting.
  • Be careful in choosing your district and exam zone.
  • Candidates applying through quotas must provide all relevant documents.
  • Keep a copy of the confirmation page once you have filled WBJEE 2018 Application Form.
  • Registration for WBJEE 2018 is all online. No documents shall be sent to the Board at any cost. 

WBJEE 2018 Application Form FAQs

Q. How to retrieve my password?

A. If a candidate forgets his login password, he must click on ‘Forgot Password’ on the login credential page. He will then be required to answer his security question. If he has also forgotten the answer to his security question, an email will be sent to the candidate’s registered email ID that will contain a new password. The candidate can login using this password and change it if he wishes to do so.

Q.I am a student belonging to the reserved category. However, I selected the general category by mistake while applying for WBJEE 2018. I wish to make changes to my category. Please help.

A. YES, you can change your category from open to SC/ ST/ OBC when the Correction Window is open. You will also be required to upload a caste certificate to support your claim.

Q. Final result/ Marksheet of qualifying examination is not available due to delay in publication of result. Is such a candidate eligible for WBJEE 2018?

A. NO, Candidate has to show the marksheet at reporting centre. He has to mention his marks details while registering.

Q. What all fields can be edited when the Correction Window is open?

A. The following changes can be made in the application form when the Correction Window is open:

  • Change in category by uploading necessary documents.
  • Change in Disability information by uploading necessary documents.
  • Change in domicile information supported by documents.
  • Change in income category by uploading requisite documents.

Q. How will I know if the scanned copies of my photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression have been uploaded accurately?

A. You will be notified via SMS on your registered mobile number if there is a discrepancy in the scanned images you have uploaded.

Q. What are the criteria to be treated as domicile of West Bengal?

A. Only those candidates will be treated as domicile of West Bengal who are either, residing in West Bengal for the last 10 (ten) years as on December 31, 2017 or whose parent is a permanent resident of West Bengal having permanent address within the State of West Bengal.

Q.Is it essential to have a mobile number and a unique email ID?

A.Yes, because all future communications will be received from and sent through the registered mobile number and email ID. Communications from candidates from any other mobile number or email ID cannot be considered genuine/official and hence are liable to be ignored. WBJEEB will not be responsible for non-receipt of any communication by the candidates if the mobile number and/or the email ID is found wrong/non-existing/changed.
