How to prepare for WBJEE 2015

WBJEE is a state level examination conducted by West Bengal Government for admission into Undergraduate courses in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Medical/Dental and Pharmacy in private and government universities or colleges in West Bengal. To crack the exam aspirants require following some tips and tricks and need guidance and information.

WBJEE 2015 would be held on four subjects, i.e. Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The question paper will be divided into 3 categories. There will negative marking for wrong answer. For the 1-mark questions, ¼ marks will be deducted and for 2-mark questions, ½ will be deducted as negative marking.

The test is offline. Most of the syllabus of WBJEE 2015 is covered from NCERT Books of 10 and 10+2 books. So candidates must start their preparation from NCERT books. Here are some tips given to prepare for the test:

  1. Focus on weak Areas: Put effort to improve Problem Areas by practicing through solved papers firstly and then through unsolved paper. Try to solve 20-30 questions on a daily basis to improve weak areas and clear basic
  2. Mock Test:  The best method to crack an exam is to practice. Candidates should do daily practice with question banks and mock test papers as it helps in managing your time with accuracy.
  3. Select the section sequence carefully: Always start with strongest section to the weakest as it would save lots of time, develop confidence. Spend 4-5 minutes to read the paper and then decide the sequence in which you would like to attempt the paper. Also allot time for each section  and follow it subsequently.
  4. Prepare Notes: Make your own notes and revise them few sdays before the exam and can save much of your time.  Write down important formulae, tips, tricks and techniques in a separate notebook. Revise your notes in free time so that it is easy to recall at the time of exam.
  5. Time Management: Maintain a proper schedule for your study so you can get success. Prepare along with all daily tasks such as exercise and every other tasks by managing the time.
  6. Positivity: Always tries to be positive towards every work that you do. Be focused towards all your activities along with studies.
  7. Choose Proper Study Material: It is compulsory among aspirants that preparing from a number of good books will help them in getting good marks. The truth is that referring the right books only will aid you in securing high. Don't run behind multiple study material to prepare for JEE Main. Students should choose books that cover entire WB-JEE Main 2015 Syllabus and are as per WB-JEE Main 2015 Pattern.
  8. Revision: As countdown began the most important thing to remember at this point of time is to revise already learnt material. Do not start with new topics and revise all the formulae from each of the subjects and also go through all the difficult problems which really test your concepts.

WBJEE 2014 Paper Analysis

The exam was held in 48 centres and around 1.70 lakh students have registered for admission. The overall question paper was good and candidates can score well easily if they go through the syllabus easily.

  • Mathematics– Last year it Mathematics was tough as compared to other subjects. So, candidates should focus on this subject to score well. It also consists of more number of questions and marks i.e. 80 questions for 100 marks.
  • Physics– Physics and Mathematics allotted 1.5 hours to complete 60 questions of 75 marks. In chemistry sections most of the questions are framed from Organic sections.
  • Biology– The difficulty level of Biology paper was easy as questions were based on the basic topic of Class 11 and 12
