NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
SRMJEEE 2017 (SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination) is a national level entrance exam conducted by SRM University. Recently, they have introduced some major changes in the conduction of their exam style.
Applicants now have the option to appear in SRMJEEE twice. That is, candidates can retake the exam two times in an academic year. Another big change is the removal of negative marking scheme.
There will now be no penalty for wrong answers in the exam. Some other changes in the minimum qualifying marks and direct admission process have also been introduced.
There are four campuses of SRM University - Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Ramapuram Part– Vadapalani and NCR Ghaziabad. SRMJEEE 2017 will be conducted for admissions into the under graduate programmes offered across all four campuses.
Candidates will have to pay an amount of Rs.1060 if they wish to retake the SRMJEEE 2017 exam. There are 14 UG courses offered by SRM University across its campuses that candidate can apply for an admission in.

The revised eligibility criteria for this exam states that in addition to Indian Nationals, candidates who are Non-Resident Indians (NRI), PIO or OCI card holders can also apply for it.
The new rule says that for admissions in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani campuses, a minimum 60% aggregate score in PCM in class XII exams is needed. For admissions in Delhi – NCR campus, candidates need a minimum 55% aggregate mark in PCM or PCB in their Class XII exam.
According to the new changes, those candidates who have obtained an International Baccalaureate (IB) with diploma qualified from any International school located within India can also apply for SRMJEEE 2017.
This is applicable for those who have secured an A-level with major subjects as PCM (for B. Tech programmes) or PCM/PCB (for B. Tech – Biomedical Engineering & Genetic Engineering) as well.
It must be kept in mind that a pass in class XII (or equivalent) in regular stream from any State Board / CBSE / ICSE / Matriculation / NIOS is also required.
Those who are appearing in class XII or equivalent exam in regular stream from any State Board / CBSE / ICSE / Matriculation / NIOS can apply for SRMJEEE 2017 as well.
Another new addition that has been made is that Direct Admissions are being offered to top rank holders of central and state board of examinations. Candidates who have a rank ranging from 1 to 1,000 in JEE Main are also eligible for direct admissions in SRM University for the UG B. Tech programmes.
If a candidate is the topper of any qualifying exam in any Tamil Nadu districts, he will be eligible for direct admission to these programmes as well.
