NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
Every year Council of Architecture conducts National Admission Test for Architecture (NATA). The national level test is the entrance gateway for admission in top architecture schools of the country. The admission in five year program of B. Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) is taken on the basis of NATA.
NATA 2018 will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Starting this year, NATA is scheduled to take place only once a year. The exam consists of two papers. While paper one deals with the Mathematics and general aptitude portion, paper two shall be related to drawing.
Candidates, who have passed their 10+2 examination, are allowed to take admission through NATA. The score of NATA stays valid for the period of two years from the year in which one appeared. Various government and private colleges enroll students on the basis on NATA score.
The registration process for NATA 2018 will start in December 2017. However, this year’s NATA exam is just on the horizon scheduled to take place in April 2017. For those readying themselves for NATA 2018, we have compiled all the relevant information related to the exam.
Listed below are the tentative date regarding NATA 2018. Candidates must note that the data given below is to give idea about the schedule of the exam. Actual dates for all the events pertaining to the exam shall be available soon.

Note: that the eligibility criteria for special category students (SC / ST / OBC) remain unchanged and is same as mentioned above.
The registration process for NATA 2018 shall commence from the month of January next year. The form can be filled online. In order to apply successfully to appear for NATA 2018, a candidate must fulfill all the formalities as mentioned below:
For Registration process, candidates have to enter his/her email ID and create a Password. Candidates would receive an email on the provided address of confirmation for registration.
Once the application form is available to be filled, candidates are required to fill all the details mentioned in the form.
Candidates should then click on save and proceed to make payment.
Candidates can choose to pay the application fees either via online or offline mode.
Online mode: ICICI Integrated Payment Gateway with the help of Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
Offline mode: By paying through e-challan at any pan India branch of ICICI bank.

For the convenience of applicants NATA provides opportunity to correct the application form for the exam. After the last date of submission of application form expires, candiates are left with 6 day window to make the corrections. For NATA 2018, this date shall be somewhere in the third week of February, 2018. The information can be corrected at the time of NATA Registration Process as well.
Candidates whose application form has been accepted successfully will be issued with the admit card. The admit card will have to be produced at the examination center during the examination. Candidates will find all the relevant information regarding the exam, such as exam center, timing, instruction etc. written on the admit card.
Admit card for the exam can be downloaded online from the official website. For NATA 2018, admit card will be made available in March, 2018. Admit card can be downloaded by following steps:

NATA 2018 exam will be conducted offline and shall be pen and paper based. It comprises of three sections: Mathematics, General Aptitude and Drawing. The examination is held in two papers. One paper contains questions related to General Aptitude and Mathematics. Drawing is part of another paper.
Both the papers are conducted on the same day. Each paper is allotted the time of 90 minutes to be completed.
In Paper A, which shall ask questions from Mathematics and General Aptitude, each question is worth two marks. There will be total of 60 questions in Paper A. It should be noted that there is no negative marking in questions paper.
Paper B will be of total marks of 80. There will be 2 questions of 40 marks each. It is mandatory for a candidate to attempt both the questions. The paper has to be submitted in 90 minutes of the start of exam.

Algebra, Logarithms, Matrices, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, 3-Dimensional Co-ordinate geometry, Theory of Calculus, Application of Calculus, Permutation and combination, Statistics and Probability.
Analytical Reasoning, Architectural awareness (General Knowledge question about architecture, famous, building etc.), Identifying commonly used material and objects based on their texture, visualizing three dimensional objects through two dimensional drawing, visualizing different sides of three dimensional objects, mental ability, Imaginative comprehension and expression, verbal reasoning, mental ability (visual, numerical and verbal), general awareness of national/international architects and famous architectural creations.
Understanding scale and proportion of objects, geometric composition, shape, building forms and elements, aesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast, conceptualization and visualization through structuring objects in memory, drawing of patterns – both geometrical and abstract, form transformations in 2D and 3D like union, subtraction, rotation, surfaces and volumes. Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and forms, generating plan, elevation, and 3D views of objects. Perspective drawing, sketching of urban scape and landscape common day-to-day life objects like furniture, equipment etc., from memory.
The result for NATA 2018 will be released in the month of June, 2018. The result will be made available on the official website of NATA. Students can download the score card for NATA 2018 when it is available online. The validity of score obtained in NATA is 2 years from the year of the exam taken by the candidate.

Candidates who seek admission to the 5 years B. Arch course in different Universities and institutions across India have to appear for NATA Counselling for final admission. The candidates have to register and fill the choice of seats for participating in NATA 2018 Counselling Process. Admissions to various institutions through NATA 2018
NATA 2018 is the centralized aptitude test for admission to undergraduate architecture course. Any AICTE recognized institute must obtain approval of CoA (Council of Architecture) for offering admission to B. Arch courses.
The candidate should obtain a valid score in both: qualifying exam and NATA 2018. The total score of the candidate will be evaluated by taking 50% marks from the State Board/ any other equivalent examination with Mathematics as one subject and 50% marks obtained in the NATA 2018.
The candidate must contact the institutes personally for admissions if there is no separate entrance examination apart from NATA 2018.
The NATA 2018 Score Card is considered valid only when the candidate has secured a minimum 25% marks in MCQ portion (30 out of 120) & 25% marks in Drawing portion (20 out of 80) in the exam.
