NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST

AILET 2018

AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) is a national level entrance examination for admission to B.A.LL.B (Hons.), LL.M, & Ph.D Programmes conducted annually by National Law University, Delhi.

  • AILET will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
  • AILET 2018 examination for B.A.LL.B will have 150 questions in test paper.
  • Each question carries 1 mark for right answer. Total marks are 150 marks and duration of the exam will be 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • AILET has 5 sections: English, General Knowledge, Basic Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, Legal Aptitude
  • AILET 2018 examination for LL.M will have 101 questions in test paper in 2 sections. First section will have 100 questions and each question carries 1 mark for right answer. In the 2nd section there will be one essay for 50 marks. Total marks are 150 marks and duration of the exam will be 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • AILET 2018 examination for Ph.D will have 100 questions in test paper. Total marks are 100 marks and duration of the exam will be 1 hour 30 minutes.

Total available seats are 80 in First Year of B.A.LL.B. (Hons.). 70 seats will be filled through AILET 2018 exam on the basis of merit. 10 seats are reserved for foreign nationals who need not take entrance exam AILET.

25 seats are available in LL.M 1 year programme. 20 seats will be filled through AILET 2018 exam on the basis of merit. 5 seats are reserved for foreign nationals who need not take entrance exam AILET.

Seats are not declared as yet looking at changing in seats availability considering increasing demand and internal requirements of teaching staff.

AILET 2018 examination procedure starts with the issue of notification of AILET 2018 in national level newspapers and NLU’s official website www.nuldelhi.ac.in. Application forms will be available from the same day. The entire process is online.

AILET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

On the basis of academic qualification, nationality and age limit, certain eligibility criteria is determined. A candidate must read eligibility criteria before applying for AILET 2018.

B.A.LLB Programme

Academic Qualification:

  • Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or equivalent examination
  • Should have secured Minimum 50% Marks in above given examination
  • In case of Foreign National, Minimum Marks is 65% in above given examination
  • Candidate awaiting result of qualifying examination can also appear in AILET 2018, on condition that he will have to present the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with above mentioned minimum marks at the time of admission.

Age Limit:

  • Candidate should be less than 21 years of Age on July 1, 2018
  • In case of ST / SC Age should not be more than 21 years on July 1, 2018

Nationality:

  • Indian National and Foreign National both are eligible for admission to NLU Law Programme but Foreign National need not appear for AILET. A foreign national will have to qualify other eligibility criteria like Indian Nationals.

LL.M Programme

Academic Qualification:

  • Candidate must have passed LL.B
  • Should have secured Minimum 55% Marks in above given examination, 50% in case of Reserved Category
  • In case of Foreign National, Minimum Marks is 55% in above given examination
  • Candidate awaiting result of qualifying examination can also appear in AILET 2018, on condition that he will have to present the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with above mentioned minimum marks at the time of admission.

Age Limit:

  • No Age Limit

Nationality:

  • Indian National and Foreign National both are eligible for admission to NLU Law Programme but Foreign National need not appear for AILET. A foreign national will have to qualify other eligibility criteria like Indian Nationals.

Ph.D Programme

Academic Qualification:

  • obtained a Master’s Degree in law of any recognised university securing not less than 55% marks or its equivalent, or
  • obtained a degree in law and Masters Degree with M.Phil in social sciences or humanities of any recognised university with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent  Provided that candidates with qualifications in social sciences and humanities may be admitted to the programme if the research they wish to pursue interfaces with the discipline of law with a special focus on Public Policy or Law. 
  • Degree in law and Ph.D. in any discipline.
  • Judge of any State High Court in India with three years experience or Judge of Supreme Court of India.
  • **A foreign student, who is interested to enroll from outside India from reputed University/Institutions may be allowed to be registered for Ph.D. in National Law University Delhi subject to the condition that one supervisor will be from the National Law University Delhi and one from the parent foreign University/Institutions of the student.  He /She will be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test subject to the condition that he/she fulfills the other minimum eligibility conditions.  The Vice-Chancellor will be competent to allow registration of such students on case to case basis on the recommendations of Doctoral Committee.  The student will be required to visit National Law University Delhi for Viva Voce to defend his/her Thesis as per University Regulation Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or equivalent examination

AILET 2018 Application Form

AILET 2018 Application Form will be available from January 3, 2018 on official website www.nuldelhi.ac.in. Last date of submission of Application form for AILET 2018 is April 15, 2018. Application form can be submitted through online mode, there is no other option available. Process of submitting application form for AILET 2018 is very simple to understand and to perform.

How to Fill AILET 2018 Application Form? 

Before going online for application form submission, applicant must keep some important documents which are required to be uploaded in prescribed format while submitting application form.

  • Photograph:
    • 75% of Photograph should cover Face of the Applicant
    • Scanned file in jpg format
    • Size should be 10 < 100 kb not less than 10 kb and not more than 100 kb
  • Signature:
    • Valid Signature should be made on a plain white paper with Blank Ink
    • Scan it and Save it in .jpg format
    • Size should be less than 10 kb and not more than 100 kb
  • Valid Email Address
  • Valid Mobile Number

Now you are ready to fill online application form for AILET 2018. Follow below given steps:

  • Click on Register to Apply Online
  • Now A Registration Form will open
  • Fill required information in the all the field
    • Email Address and Confirm
    • Choose Password and Confirm
    • Candidate Name

  • Click on Registration
  • After you Login in the first page that is displayed is "Application Locker".
  • Click on NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY from the List of colleges
  • Choose your application form and click on Apply Button.
  • Fill all details on the form for each of the sections. Incomplete forms will be rejected.
  • Click Submit for saving all details and proceeding back to the Application Locker for making payment for all pending application forms.
  • In the Application Locker, under the Pending Applications area, choose your forms for which you wish to make payment and Click on Make Payment.
  • On the Make Payment Page, choose Mode of Payment and verify the Amount and Click on Proceed

  • Online Payment Gateway – supports payments from Credit Card / Debit Card and Net-Banking
  • After payment has been received, you will receive confirmation through mail after which student will view & print acknowledgment slip form their e-mail or from the Application Locker under the Application Submitted area.

AILET 2018 Admit Card

AILET 2018 Admit Card will be made available from April 22, 2018. Applicant will have to receive it from official website i.e. www.nludelhi.ac.in or www.nludelhi.admissionhelp.com or www.admissionhelp.com.

Admit card is mandatory to keep during AILET 2018 exam, without which entrance to examination hall and attempt for the examination will not be allowed at any case.

AILET 2018 Exam Pattern

AILET 2018 exam is Pen Paper Based test. For B.A.LL.B, LL.M. and Ph.D. AILET will be conducted at the same time. Pattern of exam is more or less the same. Ph.D. there would be 2 tests paper one is AILET and another is Research Paper which is to be submitted after passing in AILET.

AILET 2018 Syllabus

AILET 2018 Syllabus for B.A.LL.B

There will be 5 sections in this exam. Each section will have the weightage as per the number of questions. Syllabus is completely based on 10+2 standard. There would be 150 questions (Multiple Choice Questions) and 1 mark is given for right answer.

AILET 2018 Syllabus for English: There would be Total 35 Questions and will cover General English contents like:

Total 150 questions will be in the test paper divided in 2 sections. Section 1 will consist of 100 questions of 1 mark each and Section 2 will have a Case Study type Essay. Syllabus is based on LL.B subjects and study material. Some Topics may be:

AILET 2018 Syllabus for Ph.D

Total 100 Questions will be covered from Research Methodology. Some topic will be:

On being passed in AILET, candidate will have to submit a research proposal on the topic or subject research is to be pursued. 


    AILET 2018 Cut off

    Cut off for B.A.LL.B  

    Candidate should score at least 40% of the marks in AILET (30% for SC/ ST candidates) as minimum cutoff marks

    Cut off for LL.M

    Candidate should secure minimum of 50% of the marks in the written test to become eligible for admission. In case of SC/ST candidates it is 40%. NLU has a right to keep the seats vacant if there are no candidates who secured minimum cut off marks

    Cut off for Ph.D 

    Candidate should secure minimum of 50% of the marks in the written test to qualify for submitting the research proposal. In case of SC/ST candidates it is 40%.

    Waiting list will be published on www.nludelhi.ac.in. Candidate is advised to keep checking his name and updates regularly.


    AILET 2018 Counselling

    After passing AILET and being shortlisted, candidate’s name will be published on official website of NLU i.e., www.nludelhi.ac.in. Shortlisted candidate should reach the office of Registrar, NLU, Delhi with the following documents:

    • All original academic documents
    • ID Proof
    • proof (ST / SC / PwD / Migrant Jammu & Kashmir / Resident of Kashmir),
    • AILET 2018 Admit Card and passport size photographs
    • Also keep self-attested 2 photocopies sets of all above documents.

    Submit prescribed fee and reserve your seat.


    AILET 2018 Result

    Result for AILET 2018 is expected to be declared on May 23, 2018. Result will be displayed in different views by Category of Candidates, Name-wise, Merit-wise, Roll Number wise. Result is declared online. And it is very simple task to get result online.
