OJEE MBA 2016 Paper Analysis

OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Exam) for 2016 was held on May 8 at 81 centers across the state. The exam is held every year for admissions in various management and engineering courses in several Odisha colleges.

According to reports, more than 46,000 students appeared for the written test which was conducted in three sittings in 20 cities of the state. MBA question paper consisted of 120 questions from verbal and analytical reasoning, general knowledge, comprehension and computer and business fundamentals.

Both government as well private B-Schools of Odisha accept the scores of OJEE MBA. The total number of seats on offer are 5489 for the two-year management programmes offered at the post-graduate level. On the basis of the cutoff of OJEE MBA 2017 and the overall document verification procedure, candidates were offered admission to the B-Schools.

OJEE MBA Analytical Reasoning

Most of the questions in this section comprised Arithmetic, Percentages, Time & Work, Average, Percentage and Profit & Loss. The difficulty level of Mathematical Skills was reported moderate to easy. Rather than the above-mentioned topics, questions were also asked on Venn Diagrams, Ratio & Proportion and Variation, Geometry & Mensuration, Permutation and Combinations & Probability. OJEE MBA Verbal Reasoning

Most of the questions were based on following topics such as Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Correction, Reading Comprehension etc. The level of this section was easy. Reading Comprehension was simple and easier to score than other questions. As per the candidates, Sentence Correction questions were quite hard to attempt. It needed good comprehension and understanding of basic grammar. Any score more than 17 marks will be a good one. Also include, Comprehension section basically aims to test a candidate’s understanding of the paragraph shared for reading. Reading comprehension was riddled with challenging text and Para jumbles required precise logic for accurate application. On an average, it took 20-23 minutes in solving this section as per majority of test takers.

OJEE MBA Computer

For MBA Programme, the computer awareness section was the most important section in OJEE. Candidates passed out from non-computer background found it difficult. However, the level of the difficulty of this section was moderate to difficult. Over the last years, the questions were based on programming, flowchart electronics, hardware related areas to simple terminology. In OJEE 2017, the questions were asked from computers mainly focused on operating systems, Computer Organization, Networks, Software Engineering, DBMS, Hardware and Binary logic etc.

OJEE MBA General Knowledge

The bulk part of OJEE General Awareness section was covered by Current & Static Knowledge. The total number of question in this section was 10 which consisted of 10 marks. Each correct response carried 1 marks.

The difficulty level of this section was Easy. The highest number of questions came from Science & Technology which was moderate in nature. The topics which asked majorly were from history, economy & finance, geography, politics & civics, and computer which were easy to moderate in nature. Whereas the minimum number of question came from abbreviations which was of easy level.

OJEE MBA Cutoff 2016

There are 10 government colleges and 57 private colleges which will accept the scores of OJEE MBA. The intake of 10 government colleges is 650 and that of the private colleges is 4,839 seats.

OJEE 2016 Cutoff prepared on the basis of difficulty level of the exam, availability of seats, average marks scored by candidates in the test and total test population. Candidates belonging to different categories have to satisfy OJEE Cut off as per their category. The general category candidates have the highest OJEE cutoff.
