UBS Chandigarh MBA Cutoff and Selection Process

University Business School (UBS) has invited applications for admission to various MBA, MBA (International Business) and MBA (Human Resource) courses. The UBS MBA 2017 admissions will be based on CAT 2016 result. Candidates passing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent examination with an aggregate of 50% are eligible to apply for the admission.

Online UBS MBA Registration process will begin from December 2016 and end by January 2017, tentatively. UBS selection process is done on the basis of CAT 2016 score obtained by the candidates followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). UBS Chandigarh 2016 Cut off

After the declaration of CAT Result in the second week of January the CAT Cutoff will be notified by the IIMs.  Each IIM releases a separate cut off list for shortlisting candidates for further rounds. CAT Cutoffs have set a separate milestone by unusually falling in the bracket of 95-99.98 percentile. Along with the overall Cutoffs the management institutes release a separate sectional cutoff. The candidates have to qualify the sectional cutoffs set for each section as well as the overall CAT Cutoff. To estimate CAT 2016 Cutoff and the candidate’s likelihood to get selected for admission in the UBS MBA selection process the candidate’s must have a look at the estimated cutoff for CAT 2016.

CAT (Common Admission Test) is an eligibility test conducted by IIMs for the admission to top Management institutions. UBS MBA section process is determined by the candidate’s performance in CAT Exam along with Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Taking CAT 2016 Exam is a must for the candidates who are applying for admission to UBS MBA 2017 Programs conducted.

Candidates belonging to all the categories should match the minimum CAT 2016 Cutoff score to be called for GD and PI. No candidate securing less than the said minimum score in CAT Exam shall be eligible for the UBS MBA 2017 admissions.

The distribution of weightage for CAT, Group Discussion and Personal Interview set by UBS for the preparation of final UBS MBA 2017 Merit list for admissions mentioned here:

In case of a tie, the following rule would be applicable:

  • The merit of a candidate getting higher percentage in the qualifying examination will be ranked higher.
  • If candidates obtain same marks in the qualifying exam then the merit of candidate obtaining more marks in the immediate lower exam will be ranked higher.
  • If two or more candidates secure equal marks in the two cases above, the merit of candidate senior in age shall be ranked higher.

Candidates who are shortlisted after conducting GD and PI are supposed to attend the counselling process later on. The schedule for the counselling process will be informed after the release of the notification.

CAT 2015 Cutoff

The expected cutoffs are calculated through the analysis of previous years cutoffs. Looking at the previous years cutoffs provides an idea to the candidate regarding the pattern and trend followed by the CAT Cutoffs. Expected cutoff for the CAT 2015 can only be calculated on the basis of CAT 2014, 2013 and CAT 2012. The cutoffs might vary from year to year based on several factors like difficulty level of the exam or no. of candidates appeared for the exam. Factors affecting the determination of CAT Cutoff

Management institutions will declare the CAT 2016 cutoff after the declaration of CAT Result. CAT 2016 result will be declared approximately by the mid of January. CAT cutoff is the minimum score set by the organizing authorities which a candidate must obtain to qualify the entrance exam. Cutoff is determined by the following factors:

  • Number of applications received for CAT 2016
  • Previous years CAT cutoff
  • Number of candidates who appeared for CAT 2016 Exam
  • Candidate’s Performance in CAT exam
  • Difficulty Level of CAT entrance exam
  • Availability of seats
