IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria 2018

Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur (IIM-U), has declared its admission criteria for admission to Post Graduate Program (PGP) for the academic year 2018-20. The admission criteria are based on CAT Score 2017. Apart from the CAT scores, the admission also depends upon the past academics and prior work experience.

Some highlights of the IIM Udaipur Admission criteria 2018:

  • CAT Cut off for a general category student is 90 percentile.
  • Selection of candidates for admission is based on their performance in Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT).
  • A merit list is declared for the selected students after the successful completion of all the rounds.
  • The final selection criteria will be based on norms such as 10th Result, 12th Result, Graduation Marks, Gender Diversity, Work Experience, PI and WAT.

The batch size of the institute is 240. IIM Udaipur offers 2-year PGP-PGDM program which is a full-time residential course. The Personal Appearance (PA) process is common to all the 9 IIMs, namely, IIM Amritsar, IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur.


IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria 2018

The IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria 2018 will be conducted in 3 phases:

  1. CAT 2017 Percentile
  2. Shortlisting for Personal Appearance (PA) Process
  3. Conducting PA Process- Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT)
  4. Preparing Final Merit List

After the declaration of the result of WAT and PI, a merit list will be declared taking into consideration the overall profile of the candidate.


IIM Udaipur Admission Criteria 2018: Shortlisting for PI and WAT

IIM Udaipur will consider the weights of Written Analysis and Personal Interview as 6% and 15% respectively. All the candidates who do not obtain certain minimum scores in the WA & PI would not be regarded in the merit list. At its discretion, the minimum scores would be decided by IIM Udaipur for the admission criteria 2018.  

Candidates need to score a minimum required percentage in CAT 2017 to get further eligible for Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) which is given below. They must also clear the sectional cut off.

NOTE- The actual section-wise and overall percentile of a shortlisted candidate may be much higher than the above-mentioned minimum percentile.


IIM Udaipur Admission 2018: Criteria for Final Selection

A candidate’s final score for selection at IIM Udaipur is calculated on the basis of weights given to the following factors:

  • CAT Score 2017- 55%
  • Personal Appearance (WAT & PI)- 21%
  • Academic Profile- 24%

For IIM Udaipur admission criteria 2018, CAT Score would be used and not the CAT Percentile to shortlist the candidate for the next round.

1.  Academic Profile

Given below will be the weights which are assigned to the academic profile of 10th, 12th, and undergraduate. The assigned percentage allotted is 2%,2% and 4% respectively.

3.  Evaluation of Diversity

IIM Udaipur gives emphasis to diversity in its programs. So, they give a relaxation of 5 to all the females candidates.

4.  Academic Disciplines

Candidate will be scored 5 if they will fall under the category of academic discipline. Those who will not fall under the category they will be scored 0

Arts/Humanities: Anthropology, Archaeology, Economics, Education, Geography, History, Languages, Liberal arts, Law, Library and Information Science, Mass Communication and Journalism, Music, Philosophy, Performing Arts (Dance/Drama/Theatre), Literature, Physical Education, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Social Work, Statistics, etc.
Commerce: Accunting, Auditing, Banking, Chartered Accountancy, Costs & Works Accountancy, etc.
Science: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Zoology, etc.
Others: Medicine, Pharmacy, and Management, etc.

5.   Weightage for Final Selection

All the candidates need to fulfill the minimum criteria weights that would be considered during the final selection of candidates for IIM Udaipur Admission 2018.

Criteria for Final Selection for PGP (Batch 2018-20)

The final selection list will be based rigidly on merit in each category. The minimum qualification on the above mentioned criteria would not automatically qualify the candidate for admission into IIM Udaipur.

Reservation Policy

IIM Udaipur has the same policies which are applied by Central Educational Institutions (CEIs) for reservation for admission in IIM Udaipur.

The Government of India's reservation policy, as given below, will be applied:

Any dispute concerning Admissions for the PGP Batch 2018-20 would be subject to jurisdiction of the competent courts within the territorial jurisdiction of city of Udaipur Only.


Offer Acceptance and Fees Withdrawal

If a candidate is accepting the acceptance offer from IIM Udaipur for admission 2018, they need to send along an Offer Acceptance. The amount of Offer Acceptance is INR 50,000. If the candidate wants to withdraw an amount, INR 1000 will be deducted as the processing charges and the rest of the amount will be refunded. if the candidate accepts the offer, the amount will be adjusted in Term-1 fees.

If a candidate applies for withdrawal after the date specified in the Offer Acceptance, no refund will be admissible.
