NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
CAT 2016 Result has been declared today on January 9, 2017 on the official website iimcat.ac.in. Based on the number of participants and average percentile score, IIMs determine their individual CAT cutoff. Candidates scoring the set CAT cut off will be called for Group Discussion, Written Ability Test and Personal Interview. Shortlisted candidates will get admitted in 20 different IIM institutes. IIM Bangalore is the conducting body of CAT 2016. CAT 2016 exam was scheduled on December 4, 2016. The exam was conducted in 2 separate shifts across the country and around 2 lac candidates appeared in the CAT 2016 exam. CAT selection procedure will held from February to April 2017. The final result for admission in IIMs will be announced by May 2017.
CAT 2016 Results declared today on January 9, 2017 at iimcat.ac.in. An intimation SMS regarding the scores obtained by candidate is sent on their registered mobile number. However, to check the complete CAT 2016 score and marks scored in each section, a candidate has to log in and download their score card.

Once downloaded, take a print out of your CAT 2016 Score card and keep it alongside with other requisite documents necessary for CAT 2016 selection procedure.
In case you have forgotten your password then you can retrieve it by clicking on Forgot Password button. There you have to enter the User Id and Captcha. After filling up all the details, click on Get Password. A link will be sent on your registered email id to reset your Password.
After retrieving Password, you can check your CAT 2016 Score Card.
CAT was held in 2 different shifts. Each shift had a different set of CAT question paper and the level of difficulty varied in different shifts. Hence, in order to ensure fairness and equity in marking process in CAT 2016 exam, the CAT authority follows a normalization process where marks of each candidate is scaled.
CAT scores are sub-normalized on the basis of 3 sections- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal & Reading Comprehension. Candidates are awarded 3 marks each for correct answer. 1 mark is deducted as a penalty for every wrong marked answer. No mark is deducted for an unanswered question.
CAT scores are valid for 1 year only. The CAT score helps in short-listing the eligible candidates for further rounds.
