MUOET 2017 Syllabus will cover topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English & General Aptitude. Candidates should familiarize themselves with the syllabus so as to prepare for the exam in a systematic and a better way. The MU OET 2017 is an online exam which will tentatively be held between April, 2017 and May 2017.
Getting thorough with the topics can fetch candidates with more marks. But it is generally observed that candidates don’t have much idea about the MUOET Syllabus and MUOET exam pattern and thus they aren’t able to attempt much questions. Here we have brought the complete syllabus for MUOET 2017.
A prior knowledge of any exam helps in preparing for the exam systematically. The MU OET 2017 Exam pattern consists of 200 MCQ questions. The MUOET 2017 Exam is divided in 4 sections - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English & General Aptitude. The exam does not have any negative marking and every answer will be awarded with one mark. Under this section, the topics that will be covered are as follows:
Measurement, Force and Motion, Kinematics, Rotational Motion and Rigid Body, Work and Energy, Gravitation, Heat and Thermodynamics Oscillations and Waves, Properties of Matter, Electrostatics, Current Electricity and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Waves, Modern Physics, Optics, Communication Systems, Electronic Devices and Experimental Skills.
This section is very scoring and most of the questions are easy to solve and they aren’t time consuming. More questions can be solved by the candidates and that too with great accuracy. There are some questions that may take some time than usual but can be solved if proper steps are followed carefully. The topic-wise chemistry syllabus is discussed below:
Atomic structure, States of Matter, Basic concepts in Chemistry, Chemical bonding and molecular structure, Solutions, Redox Reactions, Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics, Electrochemistry, Chemical thermodynamics and Surface Chemistry.
Principles and processes of metal extractions, Periodic properties, Hydrogen, d and f block elements, P-block elements, S-block elements, Co-ordination compounds and Environmental chemistry.
Basic principles of Organic Chemistry, Purification and characterization of organic compounds, Organic compounds containing halogens, Hydrocarbons, Organic compounds containing oxygen, Polymers, Organic compounds containing Nitrogen, Biomolecules, Chemistry in everyday life and Principles related to practical Chemistry.
Some topics in this section are scoring, less time consuming, easy to solve, highly accuracy based while some of the topics might take more time than the usual and the questions are tricky too. Candidates should be focused while solving the questions. Given below parts of Mathematics consists the topics, from which questions are asked.
Algebra, Logarithms, Partial Fractions, Summation of Finite Series, Mathematical Induction, Binomial Theorem, Theory of Equations, Analytical Geometry, Mathematical Logic, Limits and Continuity and Trigonometry.
Algebra, Vectors, Elements of Number Theory, Matrices and Determinants, Analytical Geometry, Conic Sections (Analytical Geometry), Definite Integrals, Circles, Differentiation, Complex Numbers, Probability, Differential Equations and Inequalities.
This section will consist of questions which would evaluate candidate’s English grammar and their general aptitude. Solving papers based on English Grammar will help in solving the questions in this section. Broadly, this paper includes questions on general English like as follows:
This is the section which comes in a most unexpected way. Most of the questions are asked from the current affairs. Candidates can score well in this section by keeping themselves updated with the current happenings around the globe. This section will primarily focus on all news based items from various fields like sports, awards, summits, new appointments, obituaries, Indian Defense, etc.
For this section, candidates need to stay updated with current affairs. This can be easily done if candidates read the newspaper regularly.
The eligible students can refer to their 11th and 12th standard text books to cover up most of the portions mentioned above for MU OET. The candidate can also refer to NCERT books for biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics for MU OET. These books will help you in MUOET preparation.
